Lili Of The Valley Guest Design Spot...Week 2

Morning folks...here we go with the second project for my Guest Design Spot over at Lili of The Valley's Ideas to Inspire Blog...can I just say a huge thank you for the lovely welcome you gave me last week and for all your lovely comments...you were so kind.
I fell in love with these little pots of kitchen herbs...aren't they so cute and so easy to colour with Distress Markers...perfect for cards for any gardeners in your life or for a new home card.   To make the house shaped card....I started off with an A5 blank...mark the centre on the top edge...draw a pencil line down to create a triangle shape and trim with scissors...easy peasy...I don't do difficult.  To create the brick effect on the front wall and chimney...I inked up an embossing folder with Brushed Corduroy Distress Ink before running it through the Big Shot...

Hope you like...I'm off to put my thinking cap on for next week...
See you all tomorrow

Remembering...

Morning folks...today's date will live in the hearts of us all forever...the eleventh anniversary of that day that changed the world forever...my thoughts are in New York City...remembering the 2977 souls who lost their lives in a tragedy that none of us will ever forget...my heart goes out to all the families who lost their precious loved ones and to those who are now suffering from related illnesses having been engulfed in the dust and debris storms when the towers fell....living each day with the horrific memories...a constant reminder of the senseless evil act committed by a few that affected so many.
I'll be back later to share happier thoughts.

Good News All Round...

Morning folks....is it really Monday already...the weekend always seems to fly...the start of another working week but before I share what I've been up to over the weekend...it's time to announce the lucky winner of Monday's Monthly Give-Away....

Congratulations
SUSAN FLYNN (4)
if you e-mail me Susan with your address...
your Ribbon Girl delicious bundle of goodies will be popping through your letterbox soon

and if you weren't lucky enough to win this time....
you can pop across to THE RIBBON GIRLS and get your name in the hat for this gorgeous selection of their Favourite New Products...

After my skivving off "coffee and chat" day on Saturday...you might be thinking I spent Sunday catching with the crafty list but with the sunny weather set to continue...the declutter section of my brain went into over-drive so I bit the bullet...loaded the car and set off to the car boot again. I know what you're thinking "have I gone mad...I could hardly walk for a week after my last trip...damn near finished me off" but hey I think the old body is becoming acclimatised...well no after effects yet...the garage is no longer the clutter zone it was and hubby's very happy. And the best news...I took along a huge box of Design Team cards that have been taking up space in the cubbyhole...sold at £1 each with the proceeds going to a local charity...so a very productive day but in a different way.
I even managed to sneak in another play with the new boys from Hero Arts...

Don't they just stamp beautifully...I'm always banging on at demos and workshops about using top quality stamps and inks and Hero Arts deliver every time...shame about the wonky stitching.
See you all tomorrow for my second Guest Design spot over at

Something old...something new...

Hi folks...remember this little rhyme...
Something Old...
Something New...
Something Borrowed...
Something Blue...
normally associated with weddings but it sprang right into my mind when I was making this card...yes I've been a little bit naughty and already had a teeny weeny play with something new...
but where does the "Something Old" come in.  Another of those impulse purchases I'm afraid....those definitely "must have" items that end up being stored away and forgotten...sound familiar and I'm now kicking myself...how could I have neglected the gorgeous Stampendous Frantage Embossing Enamels and Fragments for so long...

To create the centre tree I dumped a pile onto a piece of card...heated until melted and stamped the tree into it...a bit like the old UTEE trick and look at the result....wowzers I love the texture and the sparkle...just wish the camera showed how fabulously blingy it is...
And the reason for my fall from grace...I had to pop over to The Papeterie yesterday to pick up some kitting supplies and guess what...my lovely buddy Debbi just happened to be strutting her stuff with Promarkers and Flexmarkers...what a co-incidence and it would have been so rude to just cut and run so by the time I got home after much coffee and chat...it wasn't worth starting on the worky stuff again and the rest is history...
If you haven't entered my Monthly Monday Give-Away yet..to win a gorgeous bundle of all things pink from The Ribbon Girl...you have until 8pm tonight to get your name in hat.
See you all tomorrow when I'll be announcing the lucky winner.

Just Sneaky Peeks Today...

Morning folks...it's silly o'clock on a Saturday morning and it looks like it's going to be a sunshiney day...our favourite time of day...a little team bonding and discussing tactics over breakfast before we set off for our morning stroll...
he's already had breakfast but is always at the head of the queue for seconds...
and the new Hero Arts boys have landed...courtesy of my lovely Parcel Postie...the man with the patience of a saint who's constantly subjected to my tatty dressing gown and bird's nest hair look of a morning and still manages to remain cheerful.  Have I had a play yet...certainly not...a deal's a deal remember...oh yes I've been sorely tempted but by hook or by crook I'll be sticking to my end of the bargain...being so virtuous sure ain't easy...if I can manage to dot the "I's" and cross the "T's" on the projects for The Papeterie Craft Retreat today...I may be able to sneak in a bit of Hero Arts playtime tomorrow.
Yesterday's all work and no play day in the cubbyhole means only one thing...yes the pesky sneaky peeks are back...

See you all tomorrow

Less Is More Challenge...

Morning folks...so much for the Indian Summer weather that was supposed to happen in September...all we've had is 2 or 3 glorious days before it went pear shaped and back to windy chilly and wet AGAIN...mega miffed that we missed out on yesterday's day out but there's no point in crying over spilt milk...nothing else for it but to console ourselves with another day in the cubbyhole playing with Timmie's new stamps...it's such a hard life...being a crafty addict...
And I think this one may qualify for the challenge this week over at Less Is More...
PINK and BROWN
yes I know it's Friday so once again I'm skidding in by the seat of my pants...

But all that playing has it's drawbacks...the workdesk this morning looked like a tornado had blown through...how can having fun create such devastation...so I set to work at silly o'clock with help from the big guns...coffee...black bin bags and Mr Dyson and before you know we've cleared the decks all ready for a serious work day...
even the furry member of the crew is on his way to lend a helping hand...
with the workshop and demo stuff that's been piling up.  I...however needed a bit of persuasion...a kick up the butt to get back in the groove but I came up with a plan...negotiated a deal and a carrot on a stick incentive is on it's way...bribery works everytime so if I gee my ginger and hit the targets... I'll get to play with...
these gorgeous boys from Hero Arts...I just couldn't resist...no amount of trying to talk myself out of having them was ever going to work...they are fabulous "lots of mileage" stamps...perhaps a little tease for a workshop coming soon. But time to set the plan in motion...crank up the production line...motivate the crew and get cracking.
See you all tomorrow
