Cubbyhole Spring Clean Give-Away...Day 1

Hi Everyone...Happy New Year to all my lovely bloggy buddies from this partied out bundle of golden deliciousness...never mind we have the next 11 months to recover before it's time to do it all over again.  My old crafty Mum is in sample mode...yes it's a bit frantic around here so I'm hi-jacking the blog for the rest of the week...not to worry it won't be me waffling on about this that and the other...the cubbyhole CEO has spoken and we've had a mega spring clean clear out in the cubbyhole...there's been quite a bit of ooohing and aaahing going on here so I'm assuming we're making room for all the new 2013 stuff which means I've had a good old rummage and found some fabulous goodies to give-away...

Monday Monthly Ribbon Girl Give-Away

First day back at work for lots of you after time off for the Christmas festivities...it's a bit of a struggle to be honest trying to get back into any kind of routine...all that lounging around and stuffing my face has become a habit and I'm not having much luck trying to resist all the left over nibbly bits and pieces in the fridge.
The Christmas Tree and decorations have been packed away and the house is looking a tad sad and forlorn without it's Christmas Sparkle. You may be surprised to know that up until now I've managed to avoid hitting the crafty sales but you know what...with no crafty parcels from Santa this year and a dentist appointment looming tomorrow...I may just have to blow some cobwebs out of the cubbyhole stash purse...could be just the thing to get rid of that "crikey has Christmas really been and gone already" feeling.

Fun with Fiskars...

Hi folks...I had a fabulous girlie fun day out on Friday ...Life of Pi is well worth going to see...such a beautiful story with spectacular 3D technical wizardry...cinema magic at it's most magical. I fell in love with the gorgeous Charlie Parker who if you haven't seen the film or read the book is an enormous Bengal Tiger who loves to show off his teeth at every opportunity...followed by a yummy lunch accompanied by lots of chat and laughter. There's nothing quite like spending time with friends to lift the spirits and knowing that we will be doing it all over again this coming Friday spurred me on to getting back to the Fiskars sample production line.
But hey it's not all work...I did manage to sneak in a couple of "nothing to do with the brief" cards which I'll be sharing over at the Fiskarettes blog using the AdvantEdge super size (2.75") borders...

and a simple Thank You Card using "All a Glow"

I'm skiving off again today to visit the grandkiddies but I'll be back in the cubbyhole tomorrow for January's Monday Monthly Ribbon Girl Give-Away.

Penny Black Saturday January Challenge

Hi Folks...Happy New Year to all our Penny Black Saturday buddies...the first Saturday of 2013 means it's time for a brand new challenge which I have to say is a rather apt play on words..we can all feel a little deflated after the busy hustle and bustle of Christmas...suffering from that anti-climax feeling and what better way to chase away those January Blues than to look out your Penny Blacks...an ink pad...some pretty blue papers or embellishments and come join in the fun...

What Day Is It ?...

Hi folks...the problem with taking time out to join in the Christmas festivities is that it completely knocks us oldies for six in the memory department...yes I woke up this morning and didn't have a scooby doo which day of the week it was but with a little help from the calendar I did manage to work out that if the day before yesterday was Wednesday and yesterday was Thursday then today must be FRIDAY.  And with no more excuses to play truant and time ticking away there was nothing else for it but to shut ourselves in the cubbyhole yesterday and knuckle down to making a start on the work stuff...the samples to launch the brand new 2013 Fiskars Toys Products which I have totally fallen in love with....seriously folks border punching with the AdvantEdge Punch System just became a piece of cake...

The innovative design of the AdvantEdge Punch System includes slide and lock technology that allows you to keep the paper in one place while the punch cartridge slides from one lock-in slot to the next for a perfectly aligned border...eliminating those costly mistakes and wasting your precious patterned papers. I couldn't find any reference to the weight of paper recommended for use with the AdvantEdge in the literature I got but it did cut this gorgeous and very intricate Winter Frost Border from textured Bazzill cardstock with absolutely no problems...

 and with the use of the adapter that comes in the Starter Set...

you can also use the new Interchangeable Border Punches..taking all the work out of lining up the pattern

The new 2013 products will be launched at the CHSI...February Trade Show at The NEC in Birmingham and please don't quote me but I'm assuming they will be available to buy in the UK early Spring.
One day back at work and woohoo I've managed to wangle a day off...the bonus of being the boss lady around here...I'm escaping the shackles...forgetting about deadlines to meet up with friends for a "chicks at the flicks" morning followed by lunch and a blether. We're off to see Life Of Pi and have also got tickets for Friday next week for the film I can't wait to see...woohoo...the movie version of my favourite musical of all time...the FABULOUS LES MIS...Fridays may well become a regular "girls day out" date.

"12 Tags of 2013"

Hi folks...woohoo the start of another fabulous inspirational journey in the company of Mr Tim Holtz...time for the first of the "12 Tags of 2013"...can you tell I'm excited...

Now to let you understand...no way should I have been playing yesterday...with lots of worky stuff to do I should have had my head down and getting on with it but what harm could it do to play truant for a few hours and who's going to know that I've been skiving off and it all started off so swimmingly...

until I hit the "don't have this and don't have that" brick wall...many many many hours later and much rooting around for adapt and overcome solutions...finally it was finished and the sentiment says it all...

Today is definitely going to be all hands to the pump work day...we may have to ditch coffee breaks and cut short doggy strolls to catch up but hey that's life in the cubbyhole.

What's on My Workdesk Wednesday...

Morning folks...Day 2 of 2013 and the cubbyhole crew are back in the crafty groove...the production line is in full swing...we're finishing off a commission for Sizzix before we get our heads down for the biggie...the Fiskars Sample Making Marathon for Stitches (CHSI) but it's not all work because we're heading over to join in the fun at WOYWW to check out what our fellow crafters from around the world are up to.

And on my workdesk today...my favourite Mini Eggs bought for a crafty project...

and the cubbyhole crew are crossing their fingers there's been a miscalculation on the part of the buying department and that there will be some left over for a little indulgence later.

it's time to look back over the old year filled with memories of

lots of laughter and fun and be thankful for friends old and new...

some sad times too

remembering the folks who are no longer in my life

time to say goodbye to 2012 and welcome in a new year...

who knows what lies ahead but that's why life is never boring and 

with the continued love and support of the ones I love

I look forward to the journey...whether the road be smooth or a tad bumpy...

here's to love and special friendships...

good health..happiness and peace and

always remembering I have lots to be thankful for...

2012 was a busy old crafting year and I'm looking forward to doing it all over again in 2013...it keeps me out of mischief most of the time and even more important out of the biscuit tin. A big thank you to all the lovely crafty folks who have joined me for demos and workshops in the last 12 months...to my lovely bloggy buddies and teamies past and present for your love...friendship and support throughout the year and an extra special thank you to the folks who have visited my blog in 2012 and left comments...I look forward to your company in 2013 and wish you all that you wish for yourselfves for the coming year.
