I'm confused...

Hi folks...I'm a bit confused by the "every 5 minutes" severe weather warnings from The Met Office...oh yes the folks who couldn't predict their way out of a paper bag have gone into panic mode...terrified in case a flake or two of snow should fall and you hadn't been forewarned...for goodness sake Winter is an annual event and with it comes chilly icy snowy weather. While the rest of Scotland has been thrown into chaos...schools closed...rail services cancelled so far my little corner of the universe has escaped..not a flake in sight...just wall to wall blue sky...
with just a touch of frost on the paths...
and with no snowballs to chase...the Furry Hooligan is in "find a stick to chew" mode...
but if you're struggling with the weather where you are...take heart that Spring is just around the corner...
Back to the crafty stuff...the DT projects are done and dusted and it's time to move on to the first of a couple of magazine commissions...
the weather may be unpredictable but I can wholeheartedly guarantee this is "100% way out of my comfort zone"...time to get the kettle and my "thinking out of the box" cap on.
See you all tomorrow

Canisters Vintage Style...

Hi folks...I've been itching to play with the fabulous Canister die from Eileen Hull's Sizzix Scoreboards XL Collection so here's the second of my January DT projects for Inspiration Emporium which I'll also be sharing over at Inspiration Emporium's blog...Inspiration Journal. I decided to take the vintage route using the gorgeous Prima Engraver Papers that also arrived in my DT parcel to make button and trim containers for the cubbyhole...
and what a stroke of luck...I found some Prima flowers and buttons in the cubbyhole stash that matched perfectly...

and don't you just love when a plan comes together...the Recipe Card Die project is almost finished...wow the cubbyhole crew are a-rocking 'n a-rolling...cooking by gas and striking while the inspiration iron is still hot...

Off On A Tangent...Again

Hi folks...it's All Sytems Go in the cubbyhole...I've been cracking on with this month's DT Projects for Inspiration Emporium and I'll be sharing Project 2 tomorrow...
but it's time to move on to Project 3 with the Recipe Card Box Die and I decided to use what is probably my most favourite of all time Tim Holtz Paper Stash Pads...the gorgeous Wallflower...sometimes us crafters are inundated with inspiration...sometimes not but even when you have an idea firmly fixed in your mind of what you want to make...there's no guarantee that's how it will turn out. With the recipe box and cards die cut and covered with yummy papers...
I've had a change of heart...a last minute lightbulb moment and I'm heading down the "off on a tangent" road but that's crafting for you. And before I go...it's confession time...I got lots of lovely e-mails congratulating me on my artistic skills when I posted this...
you all fell in love with this beautiful sketch of my gorgeous Furry Boy but I need to set the record straight...
1.  I can't draw for toffee...that's why I love stamping and...
2.  This beautiful sketch was a gift from my very talented buddy Alexandra...she asked me to send her a photograph to work from and wow I was absolutely blown away when the sketch of my very handsome guy arrived...the likeness is uncanny...I was lost for words...overcome with emotion and will treasure it forever.
See you all tomorrow

Crafting in a Goldfish Bowl...

Hi folks...you may be thinking this is a strange title for a blog post but that's exactly what's been happening...silly old me removed the blinds from the cubbyhole when I was overcome with the painting urge and promptly despatched them to the skip and I've been crafting in a flipping goldfish bowl ever since...my every move clocked by every Tom Dick and Harry that walks down the street but finally privacy has been restored. Not without a few hiccups along the way but you should know by now that nothing is ever plain sailing in my little world...I was promised the new blinds before Christmas but that didn't happen and when they did eventually turn up on 5th January...the slats were too long and had to be re-made but hey it's all water under the bridge now...another step towards the "will it ever be finished" cubbyhole make-over.
And I need to crack on...lots of DT stuff to nail...my December parcel of goodies from Inspiration Emporium is top of the list...
See you all tomorrow

A Fresh Start...

Hi folks...Monday morning and a brand new week...a big thank you to everyone for their get well wishes...the old body is slowly recovering from last week's attempt to "KILL" myself...I've got the most enormous colourful bruise on the part of my anatomy that nobody wants to see but it could have been a lot worse if it wasn't for the generous amount of padding in that area and not nearly as dramatic as a certain furry individual would have you believe. I'm still more comfortable standing up than sitting down but hey that ain't a bad thing...I'm seriously nailing the crafty list and it's time to share my first Inspiration Emporium DT project for 2015 and January's brand new challenge over at Inspiration Journal...
start the year off creating whatever you like...the sky's the limit... no restrictions just make sure you get your entry in before 31 January to be in with a chance of winning a $50 shopping spree at Inspiration Emporium. All in a day's work...

Hi Everyone..Happy New Year to you all...it's your favourite bundle of golden delicious stepping up to the plate again to save the day...keeping an eye on things from my comfy cubbyhole cushion...
and you'll probably have realised by now that I have to be able to turn my hand to anything when it comes to my "living in the fast lane" crafty Mum...you know that I've had a bit of a crisis to deal with...all in a day's work but I got the fright of my life when she launched herself into space coming down the stairs and crashed all the way to the bottom...luckily being the gentleman that I am I was bringing up the rear otherwise it could have resulted in tangled bodies and squashed canine carnage. Crikey it was scary...would we need the blue flashing light medics or even a helicopter evacuation but after a bit of expert face licking resuscitation on my part...the casualty was on her feet and hobbling to the kitchen to put the kettle on...I thought only cats had nine lives.
And today I'm putting my feet down...we're having a cubbyhole crew pamper day snuggled up as snug as bugs in a rug while the blizzards rage outside...
crikey more tumbling disasters waiting to happen on slippery slidey strolls...I might have to look out the sledge and turn myself into a husky for our daily winter excursions. I'm going to leave you all with this thought...there definitely was a major oversight in the evolution of the human species...for goodness sake why did they not give you lot four legs...far more stable for getting around...believe me.
See you all soon
