Hello my friends, I'm back to share cards I made with the Wild Rose 6" x 8" stamp set from Simon Says Stamp In My Heart recent release. The release has lots of amazing products to inspire your creativity and you can check them all out HERE.
I love stamp sets with floral images and decided to have a little fun with watercolor techniques.
I stamped the larger image from the Wild Rose stamp set on to an A2 panel of Distress Watercolor card, inked with Black Soot Distress Archival.
I applied water to the image, one section at a time, dropped in colour from my Distress Watercolor Pencils palette (colours linked below), dried between layers and repeated to colour the background.
I trimmed the panel to 4" x 5.1/4", inked the splatters stamp from Simon Says Stamp Watercolor Bouquet stamp set with Versafine Clair Nocturne ink and stamped randomly on the background.
I stamped the sentiment from Wild Rose on to a scrap of Distress Black HeavyStock, inked with Versamark ink, sprinkled with White Embossing Powder and heat set. I trimmed around the sentiment using my Mini Recoil Snips and fixed in place with Simon Says Stamp Thin 3D Foam Squares.
I matted the panel to Distress Black HeavyStock and fixed to an A2 white card blank.
If you're not confident watercolouring the images, why not leave them white and apply a watercolor wash to the background instead.
I stamped the second floral image from the stamp set on to Distress Watercolor card inked with Versafine Clair Nocturne and heat set to dry the ink. I applied a wash of water over the panel, smooshed Salvaged Patina and Peeled Paint Distress Oxide inks on to my glass media mat, picked up the colours with a wet paintbrush, applied the colour around the edges of the image in sections and let the water work it's magic.
I added splatters using Simon Says Stamp Pawsitively Perfect Black Splatter Medium and stamped the sentiment from Wild Rose, inked with Versafine Clair Nocturne ink.
As before, I matted the panel on to Distress Black HeavyStock and fixed to an A2 white card blank.
