Simon Says - Make Your Own Background

Hi Everyone...welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog. Thank you for joining us for last week's challenge and we hope you can join us this week too because

MAKE YOUR OWN BACKGROUND

I created Halloween party invitations with Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Monster Reunion and Simon Says Stamp Monster Reunion co-ordinating dies and used Distress Oxide inks and Tim Hotz/Stampers Anonymous Life Of The Party and Tiny Toadstools stamp sets to create the background.

I trimmed Distress Watercolor card to create 4 - 4" x 5.1/4" panels and coloured using Antique Linen, Rusty Hinge and Hickory Smoke Distress Oxide inks using the smooshing technique and a Distress Sprayer.

I stamped the cobweb image from Life Of The Party on to each panel, inked with Versafine Clair Nocturne ink.

I stamped the toadstools and icons from Tiny Toadstools and the Monster Reunion images, to help with placement, inked with Versafine Clair Nocturne ink.

I inked the edges of the panels with Scorched Timber Distress ink and a Tiny Blending Tool and matted the panels on to Distress Watercolor card trimmed to leave an 1/8" border. I applied Distress Texture Paste Opaque Crackle through the Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Stars Mini Layering Stencil.

I machine stitched the edges of the panels using black thread.

I stamped the images from Monster Reunion on to Distress Watercolor card, inked with Versafine Clair Nocturne ink, sprinkled with Clear Embossing Powder, heat set and die-cut using the Monster Reunion co-ordinating dies. I coloured the die-cuts using Distress Watercolor Pencils and a Detailer Water Brush.

I fixed the die-cut images to the panels using Simon Says Stamp Thin 3D Foam Squares to add dimension. I stamped the sentiments from Monster Reunion and the Happy Halloween sentiment from Scared Silly on to Distress Black HeavyStock, inked with Versamark, sprinkled with Cream Embossing Powder and heat set. I die-cut using the Monster Reunion and Scared Silly co-ordinating dies and fixed in place with Black Foam Squares.

To finish, I matted the panels on to Simon Says Stamp Slate Grey cardstock, trimmed to A2 and added the party invitation printed from my computer, shaded with Rusty Hinge Distress Oxide ink and stamped with the cobweb image from Life Of The Party.
