The Birthday Girl

Morning folks from the birthday girl....yes today I am another year older...another year wiser and can confidently say that one of those statements is true....where does time go....some days I still feel like a teenager and some would say I behave like one and other days.....well let's just say that the old body takes longer and longer to get going in the morning.  But for an old bod I am lucky to enjoy reasonably good health and with a bit of help from him upstairs I plan to be around for a good while yet....still so much to fit in to this busy life.  At risk of becoming all philosophical....life is what you make it folks...we only get one shot at it so make it count and it can feel like a rollercoaster at times but we just have to hold on tight...enjoy the good times...learn from the bad times and work our way through the sad times.
But hey enough of the doom and gloom and trying to make sense of life....this is a day of celebration with cake and lots of yummies and time to share some of the gorgeous cards I received from my bloggy buddies

Bloggy Buddie...Emma
.....who also sent me some ribbon to make this gorgeous sparkly creation

and from my chums at M&S......a voucher for tea for two at an M&S cafe

Aren't they all gorgeous....thank you so much girls....

And a girl has to treat herself for her birthday so my sis and I are taking off to NYC later this month for a much needed girlie holiday.....I love New York....there is no other city like it in the world...we will be pounding those oh so hard New York sidewalks....riding the subway and yellow cab grabbing  like native New Yorkers...shopping at Macys late into the night...eating and drinking New York Style in Little Italy and Chinatown and the temptation of those yummy hot dogs every few blocks.....yes I am getting into the lingo already....meeting up again with my lovely Funky Hand teamie Enfys and her lovely hubby Mike and of course I may just find time to pop into Michaels or my favourite stamp store The Ink Pad for a few crafty treats.   And am I glad that I haven't yet got round to getting the stash of dollars...the rate of exchange is beginning to look a bit more healthy....but do I wait a little longer in the hope it will get even better or do I go for it now before it crashes and tumbles again....any insider info would be welcome.
Back tomorrow with some more birthday cards and pics from a fun workshop at Simply Create.....lots of laughter and giggles with the nicest crafters from my part of the world.
Hugs Kath xxx
