The Birthday Girl is up...up and away...

Hi folks...what time of day is this to be up and about...slight hiccup with the alarm clock...forgot to change the time when the clocks went back so I was awakened from my slumbers at 4.00am instead of 5 and on my birthday too...yes this old crafty girl is another year older...another year wiser...one of those statements is definitely true...I will leave you to work out which one. It's not going to be the most exciting birthday I've ever had but hey ho...NEC here I come and if I'm not too cream crackered setting up the workshop area I may be able to stay awake long enough tonight to raise a glass or two. But first I've got to get there...flying is definitely the quickest mode of travel from this far flung corner of our little island...once you're airborne that is...it's the hanging around at the airport that does my head in but check-in should be a dawdle this time round...the super heavy workshop kits are already in Birmingham awaiting my arrival so no heart stopping moments watching the scales go into meltdown...
through security and time to grab a quick coffee and croissant before boarding and I'll be indulging in another of my guilty pleasures...people watching...no doubt my fellow passengers will be sitting quietly half asleep and contemplating whatever possessed them to book a flight at such an unearthly hour and then as sure as night follows day...the peace will be shattered by Mr Mobile Phone Moron bellowing the news to all and sundry that he's at the airport and waiting to board...who is he calling...the Mrs perhaps who he probably left snoozing just half an hour before...bet she's not too pleased either but now that's done...will we get some respite from motor mouth...I doubt it...he'll be pacing the departure lounge with that darned phone permanently attached to his ear...hitting his speed dial list determined to irritate the life out of us poor sleep deprived nobodys...ya de ya de ya.  Oh please...he would like us to think he's a mighty mover and shaker making multi million pound decisions every minute of every day....king pin of a global conglomerate who can't be out of touch with his office for a second but we all know he isn't because he's booked on Flybe's little bucket job flight to Birmingham...not waiting for his Lear Jet to whisk him off to a breakfast meeting in NYC...I've seen his type before...every airport departure lounge has one and it'll be the same rigmarole again at the other end...he won't be able to resist sharing the news that we've landed safely with those poor speed dial folks while we wait to pick up our bags...a total waste of battery life really because let me tell you...the whole world will know pretty quickly if we don't.
Happy Days
I'll see you all tomorrow to share some Christmas Makes
Hugs Kath xxx
