Ho Ho Ho...

Hi everyone...the countdown to Christmas is on...only 11 more sleeps until the man in the red suit comes a-calling and honestly I can't believe how organised I am this year...I've even found time to decorate the "HO HO HO" sign and that part was easier than trying to get a half decent "lack of daylight" photograph...
I painted the letters with Evergreen Bough Distress Paint and stamped snowflakes from Mini Weathered Winter using Colorbox Frost White Pigment Ink. The exclamation marks were painted with Picket Fence and sprinkled with Glamour Dust while the paint was still wet.
I cut circles from Tim's Frosted sheets to fit behind the "O" apertures and stamped a Scribbly Christmas Tree on each one with Ranger Archival Black...then coloured the back of the image with Evergreen Bough and Walnut Stain Distress Paint. The star and baubles were coloured on the front with Viva Decor Maya Road.
I die cut Stacked Snowflakes and coloured the edges with Evergreen Bough...finishing off with Texture Paste Snow accents sprinkled with Glamour Dust...pearls and crystal beads.
and here you can see how the light shines through the frosted apertures...

The December tag has been temporarily put on hold because today's the day I'm planning my annual visit to my favourite "Winter Wonderland/Christmas" shopping destination for coffee cake and a sprinkle of Santa magic to get me in the mood for the festive season.

  6. Kath,
This is so beautiful, it just takes my breath away. I cannot imagine the time and work that went into it! Wow! I always read your blog every single day and so thank you for sharing your life and your talent. I've watched your precious furry boy get a little grayer (as we all are, ha!) and feel as if I know him. He is so precious, what a furry love you have.

Wishing you a very Merry Christmas and all the best of health and joy in the New Year. I rarely comment but I always read you and so enjoy knowing you through your blog.

  7. Hi, Kath. This has to be the most beautiful thing I have ever seen. You've done a wonderful job! I love the way you used texture paste for the snow. At first I thought you'd cut out the scribbled trees and hung them on fishing line...then I read the description and realised you had found a much better (and easier) way of doing it. I love the way the light shines through. If I had a mantle I would be proud to display that on it. A wonderful start to the week.

  10. I think this project may be a family heirloom because it is sooooo very nice. It captured my attention quickly, upon first seeing it. All the details keep a viewer interested. I love all the details, yet how it maintains a sense of being a simple
Piece of art work. If you have the time, would you offer a suggestion, where I can find letters like or similiar to these. I have several words in mimd, thanks to,your creativity. You habe inspired me, so I send you a big thank you.
