I confess I've had this piece of kit for a few months but I'd put it aside until the cubbyhole was less frantic, completely forgot about it and then had to turn the place upside down to find it. I wasn't quite sure it was going to be my thing and that was looking likely when I brayered the first application of paint and it started to bead up quite dramatically leaving baldy patchy dots everywhere. I'm sure this is not how it's supposed to look, but
I'm not one to give in so I cleaned the plate off and had another go but with the same result, just not quite so much beading.
OK, time to give it one more try...
and hey presto, no beading this time round so I threw caution to the wind and used stamps and stencils to lift paint from the plate and have to say I'm very happy with my first go at a Gel Press background
I can now confirm that we ARE going to be best friends after all and it looks like a new addiction has been added to the list. I probably won't be blogging much this week because I'll be far too busy out in the garden pulling weeds, scarifying the lawn, just enjoying being out in the fresh air.
with my snoozing Furry Companion for company
so if I don't appear before the weekend, I'll see you all on Monday to share my DT project for the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge. In the meantime, I hope the sun continues to shine where you are. Let's enjoy it while we can because, I don't want to be all doom and gloom, but this could be a repeat of last year when Summer was a couple of weeks in May.
Toodle-oo for now
