Simon Says...Inspired By A Song

Hi Everyone...welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog...thank you for joining us for last week's challenge...we hope you can join us this week too because...

and the theme for this week is...
INSPIRED BY A SONG
I created an Art Journal page inspired by one of my all-time favourite Abba songs
I HAVE A DREAM
it's hard to believe this song was released in 1979, almost 40 years ago and I took a wonderful trip down memory lane while I worked on my art journal page singing along to all those Abba classics and isn't it strange how you remember all the words.
I have a dream, a song to sing
To help me cope with anything
If you see the wonder of a fairy tale
You can take the future even if you fail
I believe in angels
Something good in everything I see
I believe in angels
When I know the time is right for me
I'll cross the stream - I have a dream
Abba were known for their colourful stage costumes so with that in mind I used bright colours for my background and I had to include the feathered friends from my garden who definitely have a song to sing and at this time of year, unfortunately, their dawn chorus concert usually starts around 4.00am.

I started off by tapping Wilted Violet Distress Oxide ink to a small piece of non stick craft mat, spritzed it water and pounced on to the pages. I then repeated with Twisted Citron and Carved Pumpkin.
I continued adding the individual colours until I was happy with the background. I then added torn strips of Tissue Wrap carefully using Distress Collage Medium so as not to re-activate and smear the Distress Oxide inks.
I used the Mosaic, Hearts and Wildflower Layering Stencils with Wilted Violet, Carved Pumpkin and Black Soot Distress Oxide inks to add interest to the background.
I stamped letters from Idea-ology Block and Type Lower Foam Stamps on to plain Collage Paper with Black Soot Archival ink,
cut out and fixed in place with Distress Collage Medium Matte. I used Tim Holtz/Sizzix Alphanumeric Thinlits die cut from white card,
a chopped up Quote Chip and Label Letters to complete the title
I stamped Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Bird Crazy on to Distress Watercolor card and die cut using the matching Thinlits
I coloured the birds with Distress Oxide inks using mini round blending tools
die cut the branches and flowers using Tim Holtz/Sizzix Small Tattered Florals Thinlits
added Ranger Enamel Accents to the centre of the flowers
and glossy accents to the eyes and beaks of the birds
I used a Sakura White Gelly Roll Pen to accent the black letters and added shading around the white Letters with a Black Soot Distress Marker.
