Simon Says - Cityscape

Hi Everyone...welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog...thank you for joining us for last week's challenge...we hope you can join us this week too because...

and the theme for this week is...
CITYSCAPE
I created a "Christmas In The City" page in my Dylusions Small Creative Journal

I applied a light wash of Tumbled Glass and Broken China Distress Paints
but it was far too bright for a wintry sky, so I pounced on Hickory Smoke and Picket Fence Distress Paints using a paper towel to tone the colour down.
I used the Star Shifter stencil from Mini Layering Set 37 with Broken China and Hickory Smoke Distress Oxides to add some interest to the background
and stamped the music background from Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Music and Advert randomly on the background with Hickory Smoke
I applied Ranger Texture Paste Opague Matte and Studio 490 Wendy Vecchi Metallic Silver Embossing Paste through the Snowflakes Layering Stencil. This is an old favourite, the detail on the snowflakes is awesome. I sprinkled the Texture Paste with Ranger Superfine White Embossing Powder and the Silver Embossing Paste with Distress Clear Rock Candy Glitter and once the Texture Paste was dry, I heat set.
While I waiting for the pastes to dry, I die-cut the Tim Holtz/Sizzix Cityscape Skyline Thinlits from Black Classic Kraftstock, Silver Metallic Kraftstock and Simon Says Ultra White card
and the beautiful Christmas script from Red Classic Kraft Stock and white card using Tim Holtz/Sizzix Retro Merry Christmas Thinlits.
I fixed the wording and Cityscape Skyline die-cuts to the page with Ranger Multi Medium Matte, added a Texture Paste snowbank, sprinkled with Stampendous Frantage Chunky White Embossing Powder and heat set. I kept my heat tool on the page until it was nice and hot, sprinkled the embossing powder on the background and heated until it melted to create falling snow.
I created a small city scene in the same way using Tim Holtz/Sizzix Stitched Oval Thinlits and added foliage and a bow die cut from Classic Kraftstock using Festive Greens Thinlits.
I die-cut the remaining words from Classic Kraftstock and white card using Tim Holtz/Sizzix Alphanumeric 1" and  Alphanumeric Thin Thinlits and added Idea-ology Christmas Remnant Rubs
