Simon Says - Starry Night

Hi Everyone...welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog...thank you for joining us for last week's challenge...we hope you can join us this week too because...

and the theme for this week is...
STARRY NIGHT

I made a card for a friend's Granddaughter who loves anything GOLD and SPARKLY. She has the most gorgeous GOLD GLITTER party shoes which she would wear all day/every day if allowed. I'm rather envious everytime I see them but I doubt they come in my size and they certainly would look out of place with my usual scruffy cubbyhole outfit.
I started off by trimming Alcohol Yupo Paper to measure 5" x 7", added Pitch Black and Gold Mixative Alcohol Inks to an Alcohol Ink Applicator tool and pounced until I was happy with the result. I spritzed Rubbing Alcohol over the background to create the spotting effect and patted dry with a paper towel.
I pounced on more Gold Mixative and while the Alcohol Ink was still sticky, I added Gold highlights with a Ranger Holiday Foil Transfer Sheet.
I applied Ranger Texture Paste through the Tim Holtz Falling Stars Layering Stencil, sprinkled with Wow Gold Sparkle Embossing Powder and once the texture paste had dried, I heat set, keeping my heat tool moving to avoid the Yupo Paper warping.
I used the stars die from Tim Holtz/Sizzix Witchcraft Thinlits to die cut the background
and Tim Holtz/Sizzix Alphanumeric 1" Thinlits to create the wording.
I matted the panel on to a 5/1/2" x 7.1/2" White Card blank and added Tim Holtz/Sizzix Dimensional Stars die cut from Idea-ology Gold Deco Sheets. I fixed the self adhesive Deco Sheet to thin card before die-cutting to give the stars a bit more stability and used my hot glue gun to fix them in place.
I applied a light coat of Distress Collage Medium Matte to the Idea-ology Paper Doll which is a killing two birds with one stone technique. Firstly it will hold the Eclectic Elements thread string in place and secondly gives tooth to the surface for colouring with Distress Markers and popped her up on Tim Holtz/Sizzix Mini Foam Adhesive.
I added Idea-ology Label Letters to card and fussy cut. To complete the wording, I die cut the "A" three times from white card and once from Gold Deco Sheet using Tim Holtz/Sizzix Alphanumeric Thin Thinlits and layered to create dimension.
The sparkle on this card is just amazing, sadly it was difficult to capture that in the photos because my camera seems to have a hissy fit tantrum when it comes to glitter or anything sparkly.
