Simon Says - Love Is In The Air

Hi Everyone...welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog...thank you for joining us for last week's challenge...we hope you can join us this week too because...

and the theme for this week is...
LOVE IS IN THE AIR
I decorated an Etcetera Small Tag with a Love Theme using some of the new releases from Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous and Sizzix

I covered the tag with paper from Tim Holtz Idea-ology French Industrial Paper Stash using Distress Collage Medium to fix it in place and added two strips of contrasting paper. Once it was dry I sanded around the edges to remove the excess paper.
I applied a light coat of Gesso
and added Idea-ology Collector Layers
I die-cut the flowers from scraps of Sizzix Mat Matboard using Tim Holtz/Sizzix Big Stems Bigz L die and fixed in place with Distress Collage Medium Matte.
I stamped the stitching from Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Stitches randomly on the tag using Black Soot Archival
and the "X" stamp from Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Media Marks 2 using Red Carnation Archival. I coloured Ranger Opaque White Texture Paste with Fired Brick Distress Oxide Reinker and applied through the Heart Mini Layering Stencil from Set 6
I stamped the script stamp from Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Entomology with Versamark and heat embossed using Ranger Superfine White Embossing Powder. I applied a coat of Distress Collage Medium Matte over the whole tag ready for some Distress Crayon colouring and shading.
I scribbled Fired Brick and Peeled Paint Distress Crayons on to the flowers and rubbed the colour back to lighten using a slightly damp baby wipe. I did the same using Walnut Stain Distress Crayon to add shadows around the flowers, the stencilled hearts and the Collector Layers and faded out the shadows using a Distress Detailer Brush. I decided that the red hearts were too bright and vibrant, so I dry brushed them with White Gesso and to add further interest to the background, I applied Ranger Opaque Texture Paste through the Dotted Mini Layering Stencil from Set 5.
I die- cut the wording from Simon Says Stamp #120 Ultra White and Black card using Tim Holtz/Sizzix CutOut Lower, Alphanumeric Thin and Shadow Script 1 Thinlits with the help of my little game-changer friend, the Sizzix Sidekick. I added pieces of Idea-ology Lace Trimmings, buttons from my stash and dotted lines to the flower stems using a Sakura Micron Black Pen.

I sprayed Idea-ology Crinkle Ribbon with Tattered Rose Spray Stain
and fixed to the top of the tag with an Idea-ology Heart Charm
