So with one of the cubbyhole crew not firing on all cylinders, today's cards were super easy and very quick to make.
I trimmed Simon Says Stamp Fog Card to create an A2 panel and fixed a sheet of Tim Holtz/Sizzix Sticky Grid Sheet in the centre of my Stamp Platform. This super sticky sheet will hold the card panel in place eliminating the need for magnets which just get in the way of "off the edge" stamping. The sheets can be used over and over so I replace the cover sheet when I'm done and leave the sheet in place on my stamp platform for next time.
I stamped the sentiment with SSS Intense Black
I added some Black Soot Distress Paint splatters and fixed the panel to an A2 White Card Blank.
I trimmed Simon Says Stamp #120 Ultra White to create an A2 panel. There are 4 plain circle images in the stamp set ranging from Medium and Small down to two teeny weeny but I wanted to start off with something larger so I chose the large circle image with lots of dots and inked the reverse of the stamp with Worn Lipstick and Evergreen Bough Distress Oxide inks, another way to get more bang for your buck from your stamp sets.
I stamped the rest of the plain circles using Fossilized Amber and Evergreen Bough, the pinwheel circle image and sentiment with Simon Says Stamp Intense Black.
I added splatters of water to create the droplet effect, splatters of Black Soot Distress Paint, Pretty Pink Posh 4mm Clear Droplets, trimmed the panel to 4" x 5.1/4", edged with a Black Soot Distress Marker and fixed to an A2 White card blank.
I trimmed Simon Says Stamp #120 Ultra White to create an A2 panel. I inked the images with Worn Lipstick and Wild Honey Distress Oxides, spritzed with water and stamped on the panel to create a watercolour effect. I stamped the centres of the Worn Lipstick circles in the same way using Evergreen Bough and the centres of the Wild Honey circles and the sentiment using SSS Intense Black.
I added splatters of Black Soot Distress Paint, coloured the edges with Worn Lipstick Distress Oxide using a mini round blending tool and fixed the panel to an A2 white card blank.
And now I'm sharing some tales of woe from this creaky old crafter. I've been struggling with a sore wrist and elbow for some time and then wham bam, been laid low for the last 2 days with a stinking cold. Nose running like a tap and constant sneezing which, when you get to a certain age, creates another problem, which we won't elaborate on, but you know what I mean. I don't do ill, so the atmosphere in the cubbyhole has been a bit grumpy. To cut a long story short, my Doc thinks the wrist and elbow problems are related and I have an appointment early April with a joint specialist. It doesn't affect me crafting, thank goodness for that and I suspect too much time on the keyboard is the cause of the problem so I've been given strict instructions to use only my right hand when typing for the time being and who knew how difficult that would be compared to having the dynamic duo working in perfect harmony. As for the dratted cold, I've been kicking that bad boy's ass with hourly Hot Lemon and Manuka Honey drinks and despite feeling slightly water-logged and not out of the woods yet, after two nights of 10 hours of blissful slumber, I'm feeling way better. And I have a challenge for all the science boffins out there, why is it that my Furry Partner seems to be immune to the dreaded cold virus, what is it in his make-up that makes that so, find the answer to that mystery my friends and you could be sitting on a gold mine.
