AALL&Create - Numbered Pencils...

Hi folks, it's Tuesday and time to share this week's project for AALL&Create using the fabulous Numbered Pencils #165 Border stamp designed by Tracy Evans and Stencil #39 Lotza Dotz designed by Autour De Mwa to decorate a pencil box. Rather than having my big box of pencils taking up space on my desk, I made a small container to hold just the colours I intend working with, hopefully solving that problem that all crafters can relate to...working in an area the size of a postage stamp. You can find all the AALL&Create products I used and a list of worldwide stockists HERE.

I die-cut two boxes from Sizzix Matboard using Eileen Hull's Scoreboard XL Recipe Box die and trimmed off the flap sections.
I applied small dots of PaperArtsy Fresco Finish Coral, Cheescake and Caribbean Sea on to my Gell Press Plate and spread using a brayer.
I pressed the first box on to the plate to lift the paint, reapplied another layer of paint and repeated for the second box.
I applied Coral Fresco Finish Paint through the Lotza Dotz stencil using a mini round blending tool and foam pad on to the section that will be the front of the box.
I placed each box in my Stamp Platform, inked the Numbered Pencils stamp with Versafine Onyx Black ink and stamped on the front section of the box.
I used the same PaperArtsy Fresco Finish Paints along with Snowflake to paint some of the pencils
and because I had left the Numbered Pencils stamp in my Stamp Platform, I was able to re-stamp over the original images to add the detail back on to the pencils.
I stamped the images again on to white card, card coloured with the Caribbean Sea and Idea-ology Plain Collage Paper
I fixed sections of the Plain Collage Paper to the sides of each box using Distress Collage Medium Matte.
added Ranger Wonder Tape to the flaps and assembled the boxes
I intended fixing the boxes together back-to-back but decided to add an extra panel between them to stop them tipping over with the weight of the pencils. I trimmed Mat Board to size, painted with a mix of Coral and Snowflake Fresco Finish Paints, used Snowflake with the Lotza Dotz Stencil, stamped some of the wording from the stamp set with Versafine Onyx Black, added sections of the Plain Collage Paper and rounded the corners using a Corner Rounder.

But this pencil box has deserted my workdesk in favour of a little trip to join the lovely and very talented Autour De Mwa aka Abs for today's AALL&Create shows on Hochanda at 12noon and 4.00pm. You can watch on Sky 673 Freeview 85 Freesat 871 or online at www.hochanda.com. Now I just need to get stuck in and make a replacement.
I'll be back tomorrow to share some of the cards I made with last week's playtime Distress Oxides Spray backgrounds and Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous March release stamp sets.
Toodle-oo for now
Hugs Kath xxx
