AALL&Create - Why Make One Card

Hi folks, I'm back to share this week's project for AALL&Create using the Checkered Nature #149 and Create It Grunge #150 stamp sets designed by Tracy Evans and Stencils Flower Dream #65 and Broken Circles #67 designed by Autour De Mwa. I decided to make a card needed a card for a special friend, not for any particular reason other than to say how much I cherish our friendship and to make them smile so with all the supplies out on my workdesk, my production line/batch making brain was thinking "why make one card, when it's just as easy to make four and replenish my card box.

I used an old trick to speed things up, decorating an A4 sheet of Distress Watercolor card and then trimming it down to make 4 card panels. I applied a light coat of Dina Wakley Magenta Acrylic Paint using a brayer. I diluted Blackberry Acrylic Paint with water and lightly applied at random angles, just allowing the edge of the brayer to kiss the card. I applied a light coat of White Heavy Duty Acrylic paint and spritzed liberally with water. I patted with kitchen towel which created a slightly textured mottled pattern.
I spritzed Stencil Flower Dream #65 with Vintage Photo Distress Oxide Spray and a little water,
flipped the stencil over, placed on the Distress Watercolor card, patted with kitchen towel to transfer the ink and mop up any excess. I cleaned the stencil, reapplied the Distress Spray Stain and repeated the monoprint technique across the card.
I dried and trimmed the card into 4 - 4.1/4" x 5.1/2" (A2) panels
I added colour to the panels using Dina Wakley Magenta, Tangerine, Lime and Lemon Acrylic paints with Stencil Broken Circles #67, applied with a mini round blending tool
I inked Checkered Nature #149 with Versafine Onyx Black and stamped on the panels, placing the flower head over the coloured section.
I inked only the top section of the stamp and stamped at the sides of each flower
I inked the dotted sections of Create Grunge #150 with Versamark ink and heat embossed with Ranger Superfine White Embossing Powder.
I doodled around the edges of the panel with a Sakura Perma Pen and added white highlights to the centre of the flowers using a Sakura White Gelly Roll Pen.
I used Tim Holtz/Idea-ology Small Talk Snarky Stickers for the sentiments, perfect for my crazy" we share the same sense of humour" friends. I fixed the stickers to white card, trimmed, sanded the edges with an emery board and fixed to the panels using Distress Collage Medium Matte.
