Hi Everyone...welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog Thank you for joining us for last week's challenge and we hope you can join us this week too because
and the theme for this week is...
CRACK IT UP
I created a card for a cat-loving friend who luckily also has a great sense of humour so I know that Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Snarky Cat and Idea-ology Snarky Small Talk Sticker sentiment will crack her up.
I began by trimming Distress Watercolor card to measure 4.1/2" x 6.1/2". I spritzed the card with water and sprayed with Rusty Hinge and Crushed Olive Distress Oxide Sprays. I applied Ranger Texture Opague Crackle Paste through Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Bubbles Stencil and set aside to dry and the crackle to work it's magic. I applied Rusty Hinge Distress Oxide through the Bricked Mini Layering Stencil from Set 3. I stamped the numbers image from Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Faded Type inked with Black Soot Archival ink. I scribbled Ground Espresso Distress Crayon over the texture paste, rubbed it into the detail with a wet finger and wiped with a clean cloth to remove some of the colour from the surface.
I die-cut the branch from Idea-ology BlackOut Kraftstock, lightly sanded to reveal the kraft core, using Tim Holtz/Sizzix Small Tattered Florals Thinlits. I inked the cat image from Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Snarky Cat with Black Soot Distress Archival, stamped on to Distress Watercolor card, coloured with Distress Markers using a Distress Detailer Brush, fussy cut and fixed on the panel using Tim Holtz/Sizzix Mini Foam Adhesive.
I used a Sakura Black Micron Pen to doodle around the edge of the panel and filled in with the Black Micron and Sakura White Gelly Roll pens. I used the Sakura Black Glaze Pen to add shine to the eyes and belly button and added Ranger Glossy Accents on the nose.
I fixed the Idea-ology Snarky Small Talk Stickers to a scrap of white card, trimmed, sanded the edges to reveal the white core and fixed in place with Distress Collage Medium Matte.
I matted the panel on to Idea-ology BlackOut Kraftstock and then on to a 5" x 7" white card blank. The crackle is very subtle but you can see it better in the close-up photos.
