I began by trimming a panel of Distress Watercolor card to 4.3/4" x 6.3/4" and used the lamp post from Tim Holtz/Sizzix Christmastime and one of the Stacked Circles Tile Thinlits to create masks.
With the masks in place, I spritzed the background with Hickory Smoke Distress Stain, Hickory Smoke and Speckled Egg Distress Oxide Sprays to create a moody winter sky.
I removed the mask and coloured the area which will be behind the lamp post with Wild Honey Distress Oxide ink using a Distress Blending Brush.
Going with the Christmastime in the City theme, I stamped the images from Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous London Sights with Black Soot Distress Archival ink
and the tree branch from Mr Bones
I applied Distress Crackle Texture Paste through the Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Speckles Layering Stencil to create a snowy sky.
I die-cut the lamp post 4 times from Idea-ology BlackOut KraftStock and layered to create dimension. I added a little Distress Crackle Texture Paste to the edges using my finger and once it had dried, used the Distress Embossing Pen with Ranger Clear Embossing Powder to add some shine and fixed to the panel with Distress Collage Medium.
I die-cut the couple from Idea-ology Classic KraftStock and Distress Watercolor card coloured with Speckled Egg Distress Re-inker, Tattered Rose and Festive Berried Distress Markers using a Distress Detailer Brush.
I squeezed Distress Collage Medium Matte directly from the bottle, sprinked with Ranger White Embossing Powder and heat set, to ground the couple and make it look as if they were walking on snow.
I finished by fixing the panel on to a 5" x 7" white card blank.
