Remember The Now

Hi my friends, I'm sharing two slimline cards I finally got round to making with the backgrounds inspired by the Tim Holtz Distress Paint YouTube Live Q&A demo and if you missed it, you can watch the replay HERE, 2 hours and 30 minutes of fun, amazing hints, tips and inspiration. To make sure you don't miss out on future demos, click the Subscribe button on Tim's YouTube Channel to receive notifications.

I don't have a full step-by-step tutorial for these cards but will try to explain the process as we go along. So let's start with the background on the right. I trimmed Distress Mixed Media HeavyStock to 4.1/4" x 5.1/2", spritzed with water and added layers of Speckled Egg and Frayed Burlap Distress Paints with my fingers. I dried the panel, applied more paint and while those areas of paint were still wet, I removed the paint using a damp cloth through the Bubble Mini Layering Stencil from Set 5. I applied Ground Espresso Distress Paint on to some of the images from Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Patchwork Pieces using the Distress Small Brayer and holding the stamps in my hands, stamped on to the background. I applied Picket Fence Distress Paint through the Crate Mini Layering Stencil, also from Set 5 using a mini round blending tool and domed foam. I dried the panel, stamped the images from Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Field Notes and Specimen inked with Black Soot Distress Archival.I stamped the text from Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Faded Type, inked with Versamark ink and heat embossed with Ranger Superfine White Embossing Powder. I applied Fossilized Amber Distress Oxide ink through Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Bubble Mini Layering Stencil, sprinkled with Fossilized Amber Embossing Enamel and heat set. I added texture to the second panel using Tim Holtz/Sizzix Intertwined 3D Texture Fade. I spritzed the panel with water and added Antique Linen, Speckled Egg and Frayed Burlap Distress Paints using my fingers. I spritzed the paint with water, tilted the panel allowing the paint to blend. I dried the panel and applied Picket Fence Distress Paint lightly across the surface to highlight the detail using the small Distress Brayer.
I added Idea-ology Entomology Collage paper to the panel and die-cut the Brushstroke Flowers 1 Thinlits for both cards from Distress Watercolor card coloured with Fossilized Amber Distress inks, BlackOut and Classic Kraftstock
I matted each panel on to Idea-ology BlackOut Kraftstock, added Idea-ology Cool Velvet Trim around the left hand panel and fixed to White Slimline Card Blanks.
I stamped the sentiment from Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Handwritten Thoughts inked with Black Soot Distress Archival and Versamark ink, sprinkled with Ranger Superfine White Embossing Powder and heat set. I added small Stormy Skies Glossies enamel dots.
To finish I added Glossy Accents to the black centres of the flowers.
I'll be back soon to share another Chapter 2 project, in the meantime, stay safe, stay warm and have fun with whatever you are creating.

Your affiliate links aren't working. I tried to get to SSS through one of them, and it didn't take me there.
