Happy World Card Making Day

Happy World Card Making Day my friends. I'm sharing a card I made with the So Talkative 6"x 8" stamp set, Talk Bubbles Stencil and Blending Brush from Simon Says Stamp October So Talkative Card kit along with the globe image from Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Holiday Things from the Christmas 2021 release. The card kit is still available to buy at the time of writing and the items in the kit can also be purchased individually.

I began by creating a neutral background on an A2 panel of Distress Watercolor card by smooshing a custom blend ink pad (Iced Spruce and Weathered Wood Distress Oxide re-inkers and Hickory Smoke and Old Paper Distress re-inkers) on to the craft mat of my Glass Media Mat, spritzed with water and laid the panel into the inks. I dried the panel and tapped back in to pick up the remaining droplets of ink. I applied Old Paper Distress Oxide ink through the Talk Bubbles Stencil using the blending brush included in the kit. I inked the globe image from Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Holiday Things with Old Paper Distress Oxide ink and stamped randomly over the background. I inked the sentiment from Simon Says So Talkative with Intense Black ink, stamped on the speech bubble in the centre of the panel and die-cut the panel with Simon Says Wonky Rectangles die.

I added droplets and sequins from Sparkletz Lucky Charms set fixed in place with Distress Collage Medium.

and to finish, I matted the panel on to Simon Says Black Cardstock trimmed 1/8" larger and fixed to an A2 white card blank.
