Winter Wishes - Ready For A Hug Card

Hi my friends, I had planned on posting this card on Friday, now I realise that was yesterday. Feeble excuse, I know, but I'm still stuck in the "have no idea what day of the week it is" rut and I'm sure I'm not alone. It happens every year around this time but is even more confusing for this "needs help at the best of times" crafter when Christmas Day and Boxing Day fall on a weekend and the following Monday and Tuesday are Bank Holidays. BUT here I am on SATURDAY !!! sharing another Winter Wishes card using Simon Says Scattered Snowflakes Stencil and Warmest Wishes stamp set from the January Card Kit along with Tim Holtz/Ranger Chipped Sapphire and Kitsch Flamingo Distress Oxide inks to colour the background and the snowman.

I trimmed Distress Watercolor card to 4" x 5.1/4" and applied Chipped Sapphire Distress Oxide ink through Simon Says Scattered Snowflakes Stencil using a Distress Blender Brush to create a soft gradient of colour. With the stencil in place, I sprinkled on water droplets, removed the stencil and dried.
I inked the snowman and tree images from Simon Says Warmest Wishes stamp set with Simon Says Intense Black, stamped to create a winter scene on Distress Watercolor card.
I drew in snowbanks with a black marker pen and fussy cut around the trees and snowman.
I fixed the panel to the background using foam adhesive to create dimension . I stamped the sentiment from Warmest Wishes, inked with Intense Black, on to a scrap of Distress Watercolor card and die-cut using the smallest circle from Tim Holtz/Sizzix Circle Thinlits. I die-cut a snowflake from Distress Watercolor card using Tim Holtz/Sizzix Scribbly Snowflakes Thinlits, fixed to the back of the sentiment circle and fixed to the background using foam adhesive to add dimension.
I coloured the trees, snowman and sentiment circle with Chipped Sapphire and Kitsch Flamingo Distress Oxides ink using a Distress Detailer Brush.
I added a touch of sparkle to the snowbanks, the sentiment circle and the snowman's hat and scarf using a Tonic Aqua Shimmer Pen.
To finish, I inked around the edge of the panel with Chipped Sapphire Distress Oxide ink using a Mini Round Blending Tool and fixed the panel to an A2 white card blank.

Have fun with whatever you are creating and if it's snowy where you are, stay warm and cosy.
Hugs Kath xxx
