Simon Says - Arched Borders

Happy Friday my friends, where has the week gone. I've been missing from social media this week and  not sitting out in the sun enjoying the beautiful weather I hasten to add but busy getting inky with some red rubber goodies from Tim Holtz and Stampers Anonymous coming your way in June. Today I'm sharing a card inspired by the sunshine using the Arched Borders stamp set from Simon Says Yay You release which debuted yesterday. You can check out all the fabulous new stamps, dies and stencils etc from this release HERE or click on the picture below.

I began with a background I had created earlier using Simon Says Stamp Lined Background Cling Stamp from last month's release, inked with Fossilized Amber Distress Oxide ink, spritzed with water and stamped on to a 3.1/4" x 4.1/2" panel of Distress Watercolor card. I stamped the border image and sentiment from Arched Borders inked with Simon Says Intense Black ink.
I stamped the leaf sprig from the stamp set on to Distress Watercolor card inked with Peeled Paint Distress Oxide ink, pulled the colour into the centre of the leaves using a Distress Detailer Brush, repeated with Forest Moss Distress Oxide ink and stamped the image again with Intense Black Ink to darken the outline.
I painted the leaves with Twisted Citron Distress Ink re-inker to brighten the leaves and fussy cut.
I stamped the solid hearts from the stamp set inked with Candied Apple Distress Oxide ink
I dipped the head of a pin into Candied Apple Distress Paint to create the berries, fixed one of the leaf sprigs on to the panel with Distress Collage Medium and the other popped up on foam adhesive to create dimension.
To finish I matted the panel on to an A2 white card blank.

Enjoy your weekend whatever you're planning. I have my trusty helper gnomes coming to help clear out the stuff that has accumulated in the garage during 2 years of lockdown. It's going to take many trips to the recycle centre, lots of coffee and no doubt, a mountain of snacks but hey ho, team work makes the dream work.
I'll be back on Monday to share my DT project for Simon Says Monday Challenge, in the meantime, have fun and happy crafting.
Hugs Kath xxx
