Hi Everyone...welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog. Thank you for joining us for last week's challenge and we hope you can join us this week too because
The first challenge of the month is when the Design Team feature one particular brand/company and this month it's the turn of Tim Holtz. I'm sure you all have some of Tim's products in your stash - you don't have to use them to join in the challenge but we would love to see what you make if you have them.
We are also welcoming the lovely and talented Ann Chuang as our Designer In The Spotlight, if you haven't visited her blog before, pop over for a look, you are in for a real treat.
The theme for this week is...
MASCULINE
I decided to dig in to some of Tim's new Idea-ology products and decorated a Square Vignette Box with Collage Tiles, Eccentric Remnant Rubs, Gauge Dials, Paper Dolls, Ephemera Number Strips and Curator Snippets and Big Talk Snarky Stickers.
I began by fixing the Idea-ology Collage Tiles to the back of the middle sized Square Vignette Box using Distress Collage Medium. I added strips of paper from Idea-ology Backdrops 2, trimmed to fit the sides, attached Design Tape Trim and applied a coat of Distress Collage Medium. I applied Distress Crackle Paste Opague to the sides and top of the box using a palette knife.
I added an Idea-ology Gauge Dial, Eccentric Remnant Rubs and used a Ground Espresso Distress Crayon to add shadows between the collage tiles and around the Gauge Dial.
I sanded around the Gauge Dial and Eccentric Remnant Rubs to reveal the white core.
I used a Black Soot Distress Crayon to accent the crackle paste on the sides and added Eccentric Remnant Rubs and Gauge Dials.
I tapped the Distress Embossing Dabber over an Idea-ology Paper Doll, sprinkled with Distress Frosted Crystal and heat set.
I coloured with Tattered Rose, Antique Linen, Faded Jeans, Vintage Photo and Ground Espresso Distress Crayons using a Distress Detailer Brush.
I fixed the Paper Dolls in place with foam adhesive and added Idea-ology Ephemera Number Strip and Curator Snippets
I trimmed an Idea-ology Big Talk Snarky Stickers into sections, sanded the edges and fixed in place with foam adhesive.
I moved the Number Strip to the side of the Gauge Dial and replaced it with a pointy finger from a previous Ephemera pack coloured with Distress Crayons.
