Simon Says - Stitch It

Hi Everyone...welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog. Thank you for joining us for last week's challenge and we hope you can join us this week too because

and the theme for this week is...

STITCH IT

I created a mixed media card using Tim Holtz/Idea-ology Yellow Palette 8" x 8" papers, Simon Says Artful Palette Layering Templates and Dies, A Little Artsy stamp set to add stitching and the sentiment and decorated with butterflies using Simon Says Artsy Butterflies stamp set and dies.

I trimmed Distress Watercolor card to 4" x 5.1/4", smooshed Antique Linen and Frayed Burlap Distress Oxide inks on to my craft media mat, spritzed with water, pressed the panel on to the inks and dried. I tapped the panel repeatedly back on to the inks to pick up the remaining droplets, drying between layers.

I selected one of Simon Says Stamp Artful Palette Layering Templates and die-cut Tim Holtz/Idea-ology Yellow Palette Collection papers using the Artful Palette co-ordinating dies.

I inked the edges of the die-cut shapes with Frayed Burlap Distress Oxide ink using a mini round blending tool and used the layering template to align the shapes on the panel.

I stamped the stitching image from Simon Says A Little Artsy on the panel, inked with Versafine Clair Nocturne ink.

I stamped two of the butterflies (to help with placement) and sentiments from Simon Says Artsy Butterflies inked with Versafine Clair Nocturne ink.

I stamped the twp butterflies again on to Distress Watercolor card inked with Verafine Clair Nocturne ink, sprinkled with Clear Embossing Powder and heat set. I coloured using Antique Linen and Tea Dye Distress Watercolor Pencils and a Distress Detailer Waterbrush.

I die-cut the butterflies using the Artsy Butterrflies co-ordinating dies, fixed to the panel popped up on Simon Says Thin 3D Foam Squares and added Simon Says Black Pawsitively Perfect Splatter Medium to the background. 

To finish I matted the panel on to an A2 panel of Distress Black HeavyStock and fixed to an A2 white card blank.
