What's On My Workdesk Wednesday

Hi folks...before you know it's Wednesday again....I swear they come around faster and faster...can you believe we are almost at the end of April already and it's that day of the week where we all rush over to Julia's place aka WOYWW to share our crafty spaces...so here goes...I'm throwing open the door on one messy cubbyhole and holding my hands up to a tip of a workdesk...
Yes I'm back in painty/inky mode again finishing off my project for The Altered Art Night at The Papeterie on 3rd May but you ain't seen nothing yet...cast your eyes over yesterday's workdesk...magazines everywhere after one of my "brilliant at the time" or so I thought brainwaves...
having subscribed to "Simply Cards & Papercraft" and "Craft Stamper" from Issues 1...I now have my very own magazine mountain and in a true " crafty itch" moment I decided it was time for a clear out but with 3 workshops to plan and prep for May...have I gone mad...obviously but it's not until you start you realise what a mammoth task it's going to be and then it's all too late.
I've got as far as whittling them down to more manageable proportions...
but there is still the "not so little" problem of the "surplus to requirements" pile currently taking up space on the floor...do you think there's any chance of the crafty fairy popping along with her magic wand and a bit of abracadbra....no me neither...
But it's time for our morning stroll and while The Furry Boy is busy with his "sniff every blade of grass thing" I'll be pondering the error of my ways...giving myself a good talking to but I fear I may be wasting my time...I'm a bit of a lost cause when it comes to having brilliant ideas which have a tendency to jump up and bite me on the bum.
See you all tomorrow

Less Is More Challenge...Week 64

Morning folks...can I just say a big thank you to my lovely bloggy buds who left comments yesterday on my Creative Chemistry Technique Tag Book...more appreciated than you imagine but time to move on from messy inky fun and take a massive "from one extreme to the other" leap into the world of Clean and Simple...poor Mr Mojo is still recovering from the shock.  I just have time for one more little play before I need to get my head down again with worky stuff so time to join in a challenge...now there's a novelty...joining in the fun over at  "Less Is More" sponsored this month by my lovely buddies at THE RIBBON GIRL.
The challenge this week is...
"HOW CHARMING"
I know that I promised..no tags..no Distress Inks and no grunge...well 2 out of 3 isn't bad...no Distress Inks was just a step too far for this DI addict and seeing as I've had this "On The Edge" Die since February...I thought it was time it had an airing...

And woohoo have you seen this gorgeous Sunday Give-Away over at THE RIBBON GIRLS...
made by my very talented teamie GAIL for this month's colour challenge...Gail has kindly agreed to give him to one lucky reader of the RIBBON GIRL BLOG...so if you would like this adorable bunny to come and live with you along with some gorgeous Ribbon Girl goodies you need to pop over and leave a comment.
I have to confess that Mrs Super Duper Organised has something bugging her...will I get stuck in or leave well alone...see you all tomorrow over at WOYWW...be warned it could end up a bit of a shocker.

Guess what...it's finished...

Morning folks...I hope you all had a good weekend whatever the weather...we had a bit of a mixed bag here...rain in the morning...sun in the afternoon and everything else in between so I spent my time...surprise surprise... finishing off my technique tags and I have to admit that I'm feeling a little bit sad that the journey is almost over because it's been...
I've loved making...every step's been an absolute joy and I know you're probably fed up of me saying it...but I've been like a kid in a sweetie shop and had loads of inky fun making my Creative Chemistry 101 Technique Tag Book...

and here are some of my favourites...
and my favourite technique...Shattered Stains with Rock Candy Distress Crackle...
but of course...this fun journey would not have been possible without the King of Distress...Tim Holtz...our cool "Professor"...he's a great teacher...full of inspiration with a great knowledge of the products he loves...his extraordinary talent and great sense of fun guided us all step-by-step through the Creative Chemistry 101 Online Class...can't wait for the next one and remember it's all about enjoying the journey and learning to...
See you all tomorrow with something entirely different...no tags...no Distress Inks and definitely no grunge.

Tags..tags and more Tags...

Morning folks...well what can I say...after a brief blink of sun yesterday it's still raining which means I've been marooned in the cubbyhole making tags and I've surprised even myself at how quickly I'm churning them out.  It's that old adage that sometimes the thought of doing a task is actually more daunting than the task itself and once I got into the swing...they were flying off the production line with the help of my very own personal tutor... "The Professor" aka the King of Distress...Tim Holtz...hang onto your galluses folks...there's a tag fest coming your way...

and today I'm gearing up to nail a whole lot more but first I want to share a fabulous fun technique...making your very own Custom Stamp Pad....if you've done this before you will know that it's mind blowing stuff...initially you're thinking "no way is this going to work...it's going to be an inky disaster"...it takes a lot to blow this old crafter's mind but I never fail to be amazed at this fabulous technique...

if you've never tried it before...prepare yourselves to be well and truly gobsmacked by the results you get from what looks like an inky blobby mess...
and the finished tag...cool huh...
if you want to have a go...you can get step-by-step instructions from "The Professor" himself over at "12 Tags of Christmas 2011" HERE
The downside of all this inky fun...
but nothing that the scrubbie won't put right...I can't remember when I've enjoyed doing a project so much so I'm off to make more tags whilst I watch the rain run down the window...see you all tomorrow for Tag Fest 2

Penny Black Saturday Challenge...Week 198

Morning folks...I'm feeling a tad down in the dumps this morning...the first Saturday for ages that I'm not packing up the car and taking off to do a workshop with lovely crafty folks feels a little strange and waking up to yet another morning of dull dreich rainy weather hasn't helped to lift my mood...the thought of donning the waterproofs for another day of wet doggy strolls doesn't exactly fill me with glee.  But look on the bright side...it's a great excuse to slope off to your crafty space and play.  It just so happens that it's time for another challenge over at Penny Black Saturday so if like me you're feeling a little bit stir crazy...we would love you to come join us for this week's challenge...
NO PATTERNED PAPER
did I hear a sharp intake of breath there...it may be a little bit out of your comfort zone but have a go and you may just surprise yourselves.

Now here's a surprise but it just so happened that I had loads of Timmie products on my workdesk so I created the background by stamping and embossing with White Detail powder...a bit of distress ink blending before having fun with the Spritz and Flick Technique followed by a little overstamping and hey presto...

We have a fabilicious prize this week for one lucky winner who will be chosen at random and announced next Saturday from our generous friends at...
Sweet Pea Collection...Peas In A Pod Pad
contains 24 sheets paper..2 sheets die cut flowers..2 sheets nesting sentiments..4 sheets embossed squares and you know how much I love this collection
So it's over to you now...get your thinking caps on and I'll be popping by to visit during the week...in the meantime enjoy your weekend whether you're out and about or like me having fun in your crafty space.
See you all tomorrow for a bit of a Tag Fest
