Hey Good Lookin'

Hello my friends, I'm sharing another card I made using the Simon Says Stamp Love Story February Card Kit. The kit is still available to purchase and if you wish, you can also purchase individual items from the kit HERE. I used Simple Stories Love Story Vintage patterned paper and Big Bits Ephemera, Simon Says Slider Typewriter & Camera stamp set, Tim Holtz Idea-ology Photobooth and Rainbow Splash Sparkly Hearts.

I trimmed the Simple Stories Love Story Vintage paper to be slightly smaller than an A2 White Card blank, inked around the edges with Aged Mahogany Distress Oxide ink using a Tiny Blending Tool and fixed in place with Distress Collage Medium. I stamped the camera image, inked with Aged Mahogany Distress Oxide ink on to a scrap of white card, sprinkled with Aged Mahogany Distress Embossing Glaze and heat set. There is a die available for the camera but I didn't have it so I trimmed to leave a small border. I stamped the slider panels and sentiments from the stamp set, inked with Black Soot Distress Archival on to white card, die-cut with the typewriter slider die included in the kit. I coloured the white areas on the camera and the slider panels with Bundled Sage Distress Oxide ink using a Detailer Waterbrush.
I chose a Tim Holtz/Idea-ology Photobooth picture which was already coloured and matched the colours on the patterned paper, trimmed to fit inside the camera slider panel and fixed in place with Distress Collage Medium.
To finish, I added a butterfly from the Simple Stories Big Bits Ephemera pack and Simon Says Rainbow Splash Sparkly Hearts.

Happy Crafting and have fun with whatever you're making.

Hello Scorched Timber

Hello my friends, we're celebrating 20 years of Distress, we started in 2004 with a brown and how fitting that we are completing the Distress palette in 2024 with a brown. Tim Holtz and Ranger recently released Scorched Timber and what a gorgeous dark charred brown it is too. After swatching and labelling the Scorched Timber bundle, I decided to have a play, mix it up with other colours and woohoo, I love how it sits so nicely with Wild Honey.

I trimmed Distress Watercolor card to 4" x 5.1/4", smooshed Wild Honey Distress Oxide ink on to my Tim Holtz Media Mat, pulled the panel through the ink, dried and tapped back in to pick up the remaining droplets. I repeated the process with Scorched Timber Distress Ink and Distress Oxide Ink, spritzed with water and dried.
I inked one of the images from Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Floral Outlines with Scorched Timber Distress Ink and stamped randomly on the background.
I stamped the images from Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Field Notes with Scorched Timber Distress Ink and Distress Oxide Ink.
I die-cut Tim Holtz/Sizzix Vault Wildflowers and Bold Text Thinlits from Distress Watercolor card and fixed to the panel with Distress Collage Medium. I coloured the centre of the flower lightly with Scorched Timber Distress Oxide ink and the circle from the "O" with Wild Honey Distress Oxide ink using the fabulous and oh so cute Tiny Blending Tools.
I die-cut the Bold Text Thinlits again from Distress Watercolor card, coloured with Scorched Timber Distress Ink using the Tiny Blending Tool and fixed on top of the letters to create dimension.
I die cut the bird from Distress Watercolor card using Tim Holtz/Sizzix Vault Lovebirds Thinlits, coloured with Wild Honey/Scorched Timber Distress Oxide inks and darkened the edges using Scorched Timber Distress Ink. I die-cut the bird again from Distress Black HeavyStock, trimmed the body from the coloured bird and fixed to the black bird.
I fixed the bird on the panel with foam squares, coloured the beak and added an eye and dots to the bird and flower centre using a Sakura Black Glaze Pen.

I love how Scorched Timber goes with Wild Honey and with another 70ish colours in the palette at my fingertips, this matching up adventure may take some time.

Simon Says - February Card Kit

Hello my friends, I was super excited when the postie came a-knocking to deliver the Simon Says Stamp Love Story February Card Kit, filled to bursting with amazing goodies. You can check out what is included in the kit HERE

I created a collage style card using the beautiful Simple Stories Vintage Love Story patterned papers, Big Parts Ephemera pack, DecoFoil Rose Gold Foil Transfer Sheets, Simon Says Rainbow Splash Cascading Hearts Embossing Folder and Sparkly Hearts embellishments.
I embossed the Cascading Hearts on to an A2 panel of Distress Watercolor card and applied Worn Lipstick Distress Oxide ink lightly around the edges using a mini round blending tool.
I created a collage on the panel using Simple Stories Vintage Love Story patterned paper and bits and pieces from the Big Parts Ephemera pack.
I applied glue randomly on the edges of the collage pieces and the butterly from the ephemera pack, left to dry for a minute or so and pressed a scrap of the Decofoil Rose Gold Foil Transfer Sheet on to the tacky glue.

I fixed the centre of the butterfly from the Ephemera pack to a scrap of vellum and trimmed around the edge to leave a border.
I fixed the butterfly to the panel applying adhesive on the body section only and added Simon Says Sparkly Hearts which are self adhesive.
To finish I trimmed the panel and fixed to an A2 white card blank, covered on the front with the Simon Says Black cardstock included in the kit.

I'll be sharing more cards made with this beautiful kit soon but in the meantime I have a hot date with Scorched Timber, the most gorgeous dark charred brown launched by Tim Holtz and Ranger to complete the Distress palette.

Simon Says - Sparkle and Shine

Hi Everyone...welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog. Thank you for joining us for last week's challenge and we hope you can join us this week too because

and the theme for this week is...
SPARKLE AND SHINE
I created a gift box and matching card using Tim Holtz/Sizzix Vault Pillow + Bag and Vault Funky Floral Wreath Thinlits, Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Shattered and Handwritten Thoughts and used Distress Rock Candy Glitter and Simon Says Gold Glitter cardstock to add lots of sparkle.

I smooshed a Custom Blend ink pad (Antique Linen/Old Paper Distress Reinkers and Speckled Egg/Frayed Burlap Distress Oxide Reinkers) on to the craft mat on my Glass Media Mat and used to colour panels of Distress Watercolor card. I trimmed one of the panels to 4" x 5.1/4" and die-cut the pillow box from the other panels using Tim Holtz/Sizzix Vault Pillow Box + Thinlits. I inked Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Shattered with Frayed Burlap Distress Oxide ink and stamped over the panels.
I stamped the sentiment from Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Handwritten Thoughts, inked with Versafine Onyx Black on to the card and pillow box panels, sprinkled with Ranger Black Embossing Powder and heat set. I assembled the pillow box using ScorTape and decorated with flowers and leaves die-cut from Distress Black Heavystock and Simon Says Gold Glitter cardstock using Tim Holtz/Sizzix Vault Funky Floral Wreath Thinlits.
I decorated the card panel with the same die-cuts, cut from Distress Black HeavyStock, Simon Says Gold Glitter Cardstock and Sizzix Light Green cardstock, covered with Distress Rock Candy Glitter. I matted on to a panel of Distress Black HeavyStock, trimmed 1/8" larger and fixed to a top folding A2 white card blank.

Hello Winter

Hello my friends, take a sheet of beautiful background paper, add a little stamping, a large die-cut word and boom, you have a quick and easy card. I used Paper Rose Enchanting Christmas 6" x 6" paper, Simon Says Don't Flurry, Be Happy stamp set and Harmony Snowflakes dies, all from the Simon Says Stamp January Card Kit along with Simon Says Hello word die. The kit is still available to purchase at time of writing and you can also purchase individual items from the kit, if you wish HERE.

I  trimmed the Paper Rose Enchanting Christmas 6" x 6" paper to 4" x 5.1/4", inked the snowflake border from Simon Says Don't Flurry, Be Happy stamp set with Dusty Concord Distress Archival ink and stamped at an angle across the top of the paper.
I die-cut Simon Says Hello word die 4 times from Distress Watercolor card and layered to create dimension.
I coloured the left over scrap with Dusty Concord Distress Archival ink using the direct to paper technique, die-cut using Simon Says Harmony Snowflakes and fixed in place with Distress Collage Medium.
I added white accents to the centres and points on the stamped snowflakes using a Sakura White Gelly Roll Pen.
I fixed the Hello word die cut in place with Distress Collage Medium and added a Tim Holtz/Idea-ology Christmas Label Sticker to complete the sentiment.
I matted the panel on to Simon Says Lavender cardstock, also included in the kit, trimmed to be 1/8" larger and fixed to an A2 white card blank.
