Simon Says Stamp - Hello

Hello my friends, I'm back to share another card using the Two-Step Simple Leaves stamp set from Simon Says Stamp October Card Kit.  The card kit is still available to purchase HERE or if you wish you can purchase individual items from the kit.

I created a simple card using Distress Oxide inks to watercolour the leaves, added a bold sentiment using Simon Says Stamp Hello dies and Best Friends Sentiment Strips.
I trimmed Distress Watercolor card to 4" x 5.1/4", stamped the leaves from the Two-Step Simple Leaves stamp set, inked with Ground Espresso Distress Oxide ink, sprinkled with Simon Says Clear Embossing Powder and heat set.
I painted the leaves generously with water and dropped in Rusty Hinge, Aged Mahogany and Twisted Citron Distress Oxide inks and let the water work it's magic.
I spritzed Mulled Cider Distress Mica Stain on my Tim Holtz/Tonic Studios White Studio Mat and added splatters.
I dipped a scrap of Distress Watercolor card into the left over Distress Mica Stain and die-cut using Simon Says Hello die. I die-cut the shadow section twice from vellum and layered.
I die-cut the word Hello twice from Distress Watercolor card, fixed to the back to add dimension without the use of foam squares.
I trimmed the edges of the panel with Tim Holtz/Tonic Studios Deckle Edge Trimmer and fixed the die-cut sentiment in place with Distress Collage Medium.
I added a Simon Says Best Friends Sentiment Strip and Warm Tones Pawsitively Dazzling Gems. To finish I fixed the panel to a Neenah Desert Storm A2 card blank.

Have a great weekend whatever you have planned. I'm looking forward to back-to-back Live launches - woohoo the STAMPtember collab with Simon Says today and Stampers Anonymous Christmas tomorrow over on Tim Holtz YouTube Channel, 5pm if you're in the UK.

Tim Holtz/Ranger - Distress Embossing Glazes

Hello my friends, there is exciting news - 6 new colours of Distress Embossing Glazes have joined the Distress family - Mustard Seed, Dried Marigold, Tumbled Glass, Evergreen Bough, Shaded Lilac and Frayed Burlap. But before I fell down the playtime rabbit hole, this obsessed with organising crafter had to get the housekeeping out of the way and make the all important go-to swatches.

Then the fun began. I created 2 cards and instantly fell in love with two colours I very rarely reach for - how beautiful and subtle are Dried Marigold and Shaded Lilac when paired with the corresponding Distress Embossing Glazes.
I trimmed Distress Watercolor card to create 2 - 4" 5.1/4" panels and applied a light wash of Antique Linen Distress Oxide ink to create neutral backgrounds.
I inked the Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Ledger Script background with Ground Espresso Distress Archival ink and holding the stamp in my hand, stamped randomly on the panels.
I stamped the leaf image from Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous French Garden, inked with Frayed Burlap Distress Oxide ink, sprinkled randomly with Frayed Burlap Distress Embossing Glaze and heat set.
I placed the Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Splotches Layering Stencil on the panel and filled in some circles randomly with a Distress Embossing Pen, sprinkled with Dried Marigold and Frayed Burlap Distress Embossing Glaze, tapped my fingers on the back of the panel to mix the powders and heat set.
I coloured a scrap of Distress Watercolor card using Dried Marigold Distress Oxide ink and a mini round blending tool, stamped the image from French Garden using Ground Espresso Distress Archival ink, sprinkled randomly with Dried Marigold Embossing Glaze and heat set. I fussy cut around the image and fixed to the panel with foam squares to create dimension.
To finish the first card, I inked lightly around the edges with Dried Marigold Distress Oxide ink, matted the panel on to an A2 panel of Simon Says Dark Chocolate cardstock and fixed to a top folding A2 white card blank.
I followed exactly the same steps for the second card using Shaded Lilac, Tumbled Glass and Mustard Seed Distress Embossing Glazes, matted the panel on to an A2 panel of  Simon Says Lilac Cardstock and fixed to an A2 top folding white card blank.

Have fun with whatever you are creating.

Simon Says - Hello Dear Friend

Hello my friends, I'm back to share another card made with Simon Says Two-Step Simple Leaves October Card Kit. The kit is available to purchase HERE or if you wish, you can also buy individual products from the kit.

I created a card using the Fluted Forest Decor Embossing Folder, Two-Step Simple Leaves 6" x 8" stamp set, Two-Step Simple Leaves Stencil and co-ordinating dies along with the Scripty Hello Sentiment dies and Reverse Best Friends Sentiment
I placed Distress Watercolor card in the Fluted Forest Decor Embossing Folder and ran through my die-cutting machine. I dragged the Pawsitively Saturated Sage Mini Ink cube over the raised design, followed by the Pine Ink cube and used Tim Holtz/Ranger Tiny Blending Tool with the Pine Ink cube to add ink around the edges.
I coloured the leaves through the Two-Step Simple Leaves Stencil using Spring, Aspen, Sage and Pine Pawsitively Saturated Mini Ink cubes and the Tiny Blending Tools included in the kit. I stamped the outline images from the Two-Step Simple Leaves stamp set inked with Ground Espresso Distress Archival ink and die-cut using the co-ordinating dies. The dies are not included in the kit but can be purchased separately.
I arranged the leaves on the panel and fixed in place with Distress Collage Medium. I die-cut the Simon Says Scripty Hello dies from Ivory cardstock, coloured the word with the Pine Pawsitively Saturated Mini Ink cube and the Tiny Blending Tool, layered and fixed to the panel with foam squares. I trimmed the words Dear Friend from Simon Says Reverse Best Friends Sentiments Strips and fixed to the panel with Distress Collage Medium.
To finish, I added Simon Says Pastel Tones Dazzling Gems, trimmed the panel to 4" x 5.1/4" and fixed to an A2 white card blank.

Have fun with whatever you are making.

Simon Says - Two-Step Simple Leaves Card Kit

Hello my friends, it's that time of the month when the Simon Says Card Kit of the Month pops through my letterbox and it never disappoints. The Two-Step Simple Leaves October Card Kit is full of amazing products guaranteed to kick start your creative mojo.

I created a card using the Two-Step Simple Leaves stamp set and stencil, the Tim Holtz/Ranger Tiny Blending Tools, the beautiful Stamperia Rice Paper, Simon Says Ivory cardstock and Pastel Tones Dazzling Gems, all included in the kit.
I trimmed Simon Says Ivory Cardstock to create a 4" x 5.1/4" panel, roughly measured the Stamperia Rice Paper, applied water around the edges with a Detailer Brush and teased the fibres apart.
I fixed the Rice Paper panel to the Ivory cardstock using Distress Collage Medium and a Collage Brush and added pieces of Tim Holtz Idea-ology Cello Sticker Tape.
I placed a panel of the Ivory cardstock on Simon Says Pawsitively Perfect Craft Tacky Mat, laid the Two-Step Simple Leaves Stencil in place and stencilled the leaves using Iced Spruce Distress Oxide ink and the Tiny Blending Tools included in the kit.
I stamped the outline leaves over the stencilled leaves using Simon Says Two-Step Simple Leaves stamp set, inked with Ground Espresso Distress Archival ink and stamped the small leaf cluster twice, inked with Vintage Photo Distress Oxide ink, on to a scrap of Ivory cardstock.
I die-cut with the Two-Step Simple Leaves co-ordinating dies, which are not included in the kit, but are an add-on purchase.
I die-cut Simon Says Birthday Wishes shadow layer from vellum and the words from the Ivory Cardstock, coloured with Vintage Photo Distress Oxide ink. I fixed the word layer to the vellum with small dots of Distress Collage Medium behind the letters. I die-cut the words twice more and layered behind the vellum to create lift.
I added splatters of Vintage Photo Distress Oxide ink to the leaves, fixed to the panel with Distress Collage Medium and added the die-cut sentiment on top.
I added Simon Says Pastel Tones Dazzling Gems also included in the kit.

To finish I distressed the edge of the panel with my scissors, matted on to an A2 panel of Distress HeavyStock and fixed to an A2 white card blank.
Happy Crafting
