What's on my Workdesk Wednesday

Morning folks....it's Wednesday and in 3 days time the big day will be here.....but first another important day in the crafty calendar....it's time to join all the lovely crafters over at WOYWW and artistic licence has been brought into play this morning because technically my workdesk today is the kitchen worktop groaning under all the food I've been slaving over since the weekend and if you are feeling peckish....better look away now if not.....get yourselves a cuppa...a comfy sofa and chill out....

more stock for the freezer and the Ham and Roast Beef all ready for carving

must admit to having one or two tastes of this delicious smoked ham....
willpower and food just don't go together...do they?
they don't call us Scots thrifty for no reason....nothing goes to waste in this house...the left overs will be used to make stock for tomorrow's huge pot of lentil soup and then the bone will be handed over to the Furry Boy for a final chew....
but we are feeling ever so slightly cream crackered.... this cooking malarkey is tiring work.....much harder than anything the cubbyhole can throw at us so after our morning stroll it's time for the kitchen dog to have a snooze
while I sit and relax for 5 minutes with a welcome mug of Hot Chocolate....
The kitchen has a permanent resident at the moment....even although the oven is going great guns.....right by my side through thick and thin with his" Look At Me....I'm Starving" expression so typical of goldies
such dedication to duty deserves a tasty morsel or two....wouldn't you agree
but there is always a  crafty job to do and while the oven is working it's magic with the Meat Loaves....we are off to the cubbyhole to fix E-Z mount to these beauties...

Crafting and cooking are my two passions and I think it was Winston Churchill who said...."when you find a job you love...you will never have to work again".....he was right about the crafting not so sure about the cooking job....and guess who turned up at the cubbyhole this morning....yes Santa dressed up as my lovely postie with some Christmas Cheer.....will share tomorrow.

Morning Kath - oh that ham looks scrumptious!!! Buddy has a kitchen companion in my Max - he could be fast asleep in the living room and then right by my feet in the kitchen within a nanosecond, just as soon as he hears the knife on the chopping board or the fridge door opening (it's funny how he's old when its time for walkies in this weather, but a young spring chicken when galloping through to the kitchen for food!)

Love Ann

morning Kath - busy busy
I haven't made a start on anything yet - am frantically trying to get the house tidy, and the kids have other ideas
that is definitely a " Look At Me....I'm Starving" expression, cavaliers have the exact same expression lol
have a great day

Ooh, lentil soup from the ham bone - my mum used to make that!
Merry Christmas to you and Buddy from me here in Florida. I read your blog daily and (since I let mine fall to the wayside) fully appreciate the work you put in to it. You're an inspiration, an enabler and one of my army of virtual friends. Hope we can meet up for a cuppie (or something stronger!) one day when I am home. All the best for 2011 to you and yours!

Poor Buddy, looks half starved!! Unlike the humans in your household who are going to be bursting at the seams! Lovely new stamps two, heard there was quite a rush on them!

Mmmm, looks divine, sounds and looks like you are ultra busy Kath, but still, I can see you have a little helper there, chief taster I presume!

Hope you and yours have a wonderful Christmas and all the best for the New Year!

love the site of food - no i do not have willpower either! I hate putting the ez mount foam on the stamp, but once it is all one - it is worth it and stamping with them is a joy.

Oh that ham looks so delicious I can see why Buddy is sitting on standby. At leaset I only have to do side dishes, as far as I know, my youngest son is cooking turkey and ham at his house and bringing here for our dinner. Isn't he a love!! There will be 7 of us this year we have 4 missing for various reasons. Grandson just returned from a deployment Monday, but he has had first leave for Christmas for two years in a row, so time for him to take the second leave group in January. Enjoy your day.
