Off to the Car Boot

Morning folks....it's another lovely sunny morning in the North East of Scotland and how am I spending my day...tres exciting...little Sis and I are off to our local Car Boot with 2 cars jam packed with all our old tat and by the time you are reading this we will be unloading and setting out our wares for sale...it's amazing the stuff  you hoard thinking it will come in handy some day and it never fails to amaze me what I think is utter rubbish...is someone else's must have item so fingers crossed we manage to get rid of most of it.
Yesterday I took the momentous decision to declutter my wardrobe...lots of stuff that doesn't fit anymore and all those bygone era clothes that will never come back into fashion no matter how long I keep them...time to be ruthless. All chucked in the washing machine for a freshen up and I spent the rest of the day doing this...not my most favourite of jobs...whatever gave you the impression it was all fun and games at the cubbyhole....

and the promised pics of our new totally decluttered boudoir...I do suspect that while I was toiling away with the smoothing iron...the furry boy was having a little snooze...the wrinkled dent in the duvet gives it away every time.

If only I could have the same ruthless streak when it comes to decluttering the cubbyhole
Catch up with you all tomorrow
Hugs Kath xxx
Edited to add: To answer Jessica's question....the tape measure and sentiment strips are from a company called East of India....I did find a website but it would appear that they only sell wholesale....I got mine from the haberdashery department of my local John Lewis....but Jessica is in the US...don't think John Lewis have ventured stateside yet.   And I forget that folks outside the UK are reading my blog....so "coo's tail" translates as the "cow's tail".....which means I am always late and running behind.

  3. I'm glad our big black hairy dog doesn't do stairs. Jumping on our off white sofa now and then is bad enough.
I hope you had a good day at the boot sale.

  5. Thanks so much Kath for the info about the cow's tail! And I know what it's like to be behind. I hate it, so always try to get ready early! Doesn't always work tho... I guess I'll go check out the company's website to see if they will ship, and whether it will cost my my first born child or not! I don't know if I'd have ironed all the stuff I was getting rid of...of course I know you'd get a higer price for it. Good luck with your sale, I hope you rake in some big bucks!

  9. Love your spruced up boudoir and en suite Kath, it looks lovely and fresh and smart. My chocolate pudding doesn't do bedrooms but she does have a chair in the conservatory that she's claimed. To be honest no-one else would want to sit on it now lol!

Hope you didn't get soaked today. Left home to go to Mhairi's flat and it was fine - 2 loads of washing out. By the time we got to Bridge of Don it was raining! Ok at her flat till about 5 pm but looked a bit unpleasant northwards. Came home to empty water out of basket. But most of washing mainly dry. Still needed tumble drier but could have been worse lol!!

  12. You mean you can use an iron on clothes?? I just use mine to craft! LOL. I HATE to iron! Love the new boudoir. Can't blame for Golden hooligan for curling up for a quick snooze on such a comfy looking bed! Hope that you didn't have to bring a thing home but cash!

  13. Love your new bedroom and ensuite -the tiles in the bathroom are really nice - and I like your accent colour with the towels, bedding and bedside lamps too -both colours I really love.

Aren't you good washing and ironing your old clothes to freshen them up before taking them to car boot sale - puts me to shame I just get them out of the wardrobe and straight into a bag to take them to the charity shop (they were clean when they went into the wardrobe in the first place I hasten to add!!!! - I'm not THAT bad!)
