that was as far as I got and the rest have been abandoned on the cubbyhole floor until another day......I got ever so slightly distracted when....
the doorbell rang...it's Mr Postie with my new residents and yes that is one of Sir Tim's new Alterations....still waiting for the rest to come into stock....and can't believe I have eventually got my hands on that gorgeous Papermania Bauble stamp that I missed out on last Christmas.....and as if that isn't enough excitement for one day.....
I get an e-mail from the lovely Jacqui at Simply Create....she is on her way with my Hero Arts stamp order and some other goodies.....well can't tell you about that just yet...but watch this space....
by now I am positively hyperventilating with excitement and overcome with rubber stampitis....but I did manage to finish the card I was working on...a little sneaky peek...you won't be seeing this one for quite a while.....it's for a very special lady who has a special biggy birthday coming up soon.
and I am beginning to think I have developed that dreaded disease..(obsessio storage-itis) ....I have been looking for some nice baskets for my newly decorated en-suite to hold all the toiletry things.....and then I spotted just what I wanted in Tesco but they were in a white metal tower...reduced to half price...so I took out the baskets and was all ready to ditch the tower when I had a brainwave....perfect storage for all Sir Timmie's stuff...next job...making little labels for the Distess Inks and hey I'm left with plenty space just in case I feel the need to have even more of his gorgeous products.
Believe me I needed a cuppa and a lie down after my mega exciting day.....back tomorrow hopefully with some samples made with the brand new download from Funky Hand and maybe another sneaky peek.
And my growing by the day stamp collection pales into insignifigance when you see this....prepare yourselves to be amazed folks....perhaps you had better sit down before you click HERE

Edited to add: To answer Tina's question....at first I thought my bauble stamp was fine but when I went to check....yes the rubber has been put on squint and so is the image on the front...just goes to prove that you get what you pay for in the crafty world too....a good quality stamp of this size should retail for about £15-£18.00 so at £6.99 so it looks like we are getting an inferior product but how difficult is it to make sure the image is put on straight. I know I am always banging on about Hero Arts and yes they are a bit more expensive...but hey I have never had an inferior stamp from them....shame on you Papermania.....won't be buying from you again....and it's surely not a coincidence that we both have faulty stamps.
Oooh Kath, you have been a busy bee! I am really impressed hun as I have the best of intentions but never seem to make any progress. I think I am genetically destined to be messy LOL! Hugs, Squirrel xx

ReplyDeleteI made labels for my distress inks on the computer, there a lot easier to find a colour. Love your storage idea. And your new stamps are so gorgeous, I was looking at those Penny Black embroidery and sewing stamps on e-bay the other week but the price ended up expensive, nearly the equivalent to buying new.
ReplyDeleteHappy crafting

Hi Kath
ReplyDeleteLove your storge ideas and what an exciting day you had - lucky you! I too managed to get hold of the Christmas Bauble stamp that I too missed out on last year, but mine came from a faulty batch (boo hoo)in that the print on the front (as well as the stamp on the back) are both askew. I've managed to heat it in the microwave to warm the glue to be able to position the stamp as straight as I can to the wooden block but it is off putting that the front picture is not straight - but hey at least I've got the stamp so I shouldnt complain........ out of interest was yours OK?
Take care
Tina

ReplyDeleteHi Kath, I tried to leave a link to a PDF with all the distress ink names on it but it won't post properly. But you can find it through the Tim Holtz website, products, distress inks and pdf.
ReplyDeleteI printed the names on a sticker sheet and punced them out with a SU window label punch.

ReplyDeleteThanks for the sweet comment! I love your disease though.... I think I have the same thing. Check out my craft room and you might get an idea or two.
ReplyDeleteHave fun organizing!
oh you have been so busy! i am with Nat, can we come and play with the stash?
ReplyDeletelove teen xx
I like thing all nice and tidy Kath but it never lasts, can spend a whole day organizing my stash and in 5mis my table is all topsy turvy again, why do I bother. See you.ve bought the checked wooden stamp, me too. Made it for the Penny Black challenge and then realised I'd used a Hero Arts flower stamp, dash it. Bought some Penny Black stamps at Elgin last week, must rake amongst my mess and find them. Might be a good idea to have a tidy up! nnalorac.xx
ReplyDeleteThanks for answering my question Kath about the Papermania stamp - its credit to you for keeping on top of everything that you do......
ReplyDeleteApparently (so the internet shop where I bought the stamp from) said that the whole batch that he had received were exactly the same and that on the Docrafts forum there was mention of it there too - and that is where somebody mentioned about the mircowave trick. It is bad for a BIG company like Papermania to let a dodgy batch through the system (just because we are all so desperate to get our grubby hands on the thing!!!!!!) Should they have done a product recall? - I don't know and overall I am pleased that I've got tha stamp cos I just love, love, love it!

Hi, Sorry to hear about your Bauble Stamp - mine was perfect! I have never had problems with their wooden stamps or clear stamps. What a shame. Maybe thats why they had been masproduced. return it to glitterpot if that is where you got it from?
