I would be if the weather was in a co-operative mood but sheltering under an umbrella dressed in a sou'wester and wellies just doesn't have the same appeal and then there's the pressing list of household chores as long as your arm to tackle...all the jobs I conveniently overlook in the name of art...so it's going to be a domestic goddess kind of a morning having fun with a duster...broom and mop...oh I can hardly wait.
Is there is no end to today's excitement...in the afternoon I will be putting on my hugest big girl knickers...yes the ones that reach right up to my chin to rugby tackle the ironing mountain. I really don't have a choice...the wardrobe rails look like there's been a mega "everything must go sale" and the choice of anything wrinkle free to wear has hit rock bottom. But it's not all bad news...I've promised myself a little treat....coffee...cake and an afternoon of telly...what's the alternative...standing watching the rain run down the window. I'd much rather tune into QVC and watch my Craftwork Cards buddy...the lovely Julie Hickey strut her stuff between 2pm and 3pm with some fabulous new products....I have a sneaky feeling they are going to fly so it will be fastest fingers to the phone folks if you want to get your crafty mitts on some brand new kits including the super cute Warren Decoupage Pads....check it out HERE
But there's been mutiny amongst the cleaning crew...now there's a surprise...hubby's conveniently remembered he has much more important things to do...The Furry Boy's been suddenly overcome by exhaustion and is doing his best impression of being in a coma...isn't it strange how everyone deserts the ship at the mention of the WORK word.
Looks like it's just me and my marigolds...catch up with you all tomorrow over at WOYWW
Hugs Kath xxx
Morning Both.Don't go mad Kath save some for another day and don't give notice of what you are going to do just surprise them and they don't have time to think up excuses.Buddy has the best idea.

Morning Kath, why is it that our furry friends always look so cute as though butter wouldn't melt in their mouths when they are asleep? Aww bless the gorgeous Buddy. Mind you while he is a cutey all snug and sleeping, you don't know what he is thinking (would you really like to know though????) Have a good day - Denise & Meg
ReplyDeleteAwww . . . totally adorable picture of The Furry Boy! I just want to sneak up to him and give him a great big hug!
ReplyDeleteGood luck with the Domestic Goddess thing Kath. I, too, have an ironing pile to crease!
Hugs, Sandra
Morning Kath - you go for it girl!!! My ironing was the height of Everest yesterday - took me two hours to clear and the washing machine and drier are on again this morning. Do people hand stuff in off the street? - where does it all come from.

Morning Kath, sometimes a girl has to do what a girl has to do! Being a domestic goddess is a hard image to live up too.
ReplyDeleteAt least you iron whilst watching TV. No ironing for me all done, but then my washer has been broken since last thurs.
thanks for the QVC reminder will be sure to watch Julie.
Big Hugs Carol xx
Enjoy your housework Kath. I think Buddy has the right idea, lots of hugs. Anesha :)
ReplyDeleteAha - what you need is Mr Tidy - aka as my husband. I offered to iron his shirts - he won't let me near them & prefers to do the washing up himself as I get too much water on the floor & up my arms as the counter is high (for his height) & I'm small.........Wonder if we could leave him under the careful eye of Buddy whilst you & I go off to reconnoitre with Debbi? Now that is all said in jest as I'm very proud of (& grateful for) my husband's tidiness - even when I can't find the plastic bag I got out five mins ago to put the shopping in - it got tidied into the bin whilst I found my handbag.
ReplyDeleteHave a good day.
Paula (PEP)

ReplyDeleteI have always felt that there should be a Federal Law against Ironing In The Summer". From the other comments, it sounds like we should start a movement to ban the task forever! Love the pic of Buddy. Linda S. in NE
ReplyDeleteHi Kath, hope you got the dreaded houswork done! And the ironing. I had a bit of a backlog of cleaning to do after my 2 weeks full time at work. Did manage my ironing cos I always do it on a Sunday. Saw Julie of QVC, she was very good and had lots of nice goodies.
ReplyDeleteHasn't it been lovely today after all. Pity I had housework in the morning and work in the afternoon. Still I had 3 walks with my lovely boys. I'm not saying nice walks as sometimes Max refuses to walk and other times he tries to fight with Blue!!
