Off on a Jolly....

Morning folks...by the time you are reading this....I will be on my way to the train station with Grandson Brodie for a day out to the Riverside Museum in Glasgow.
Brodie's level of excitement went completely off the scale when I suggested a "just the two of us" trip away and the questions have been coming thick and fast.  "What will I need to pack"...just your rain jacket and a bottle of water...it's only a day trip..."will I need money"...no..this is Grandma's treat..."well I could take some money and buy you an ice cream"....how sweet.  He went into orbit when I said we were taking the train..."I've never been on a proper train"..."where will we be sitting...can I see my ticket again...how long will it take to get there"...and when I mentioned that an attendant comes along the train with a trolley serving coffee and biscuits...his eyes were like saucers and I knew what was coming next..."do you think he'll have crisps".
Chances are the journey is not going to be boring and any chance of a snooze is looking highly unlikely but there is more excitement in store...hopping onto "The Riversider"...door to door bus from the station to the Museum
and no doubt there will be plenty scope for more questions once we get there...
Isn't life wonderful when seen through the eyes of a child.
Catch up with you all tomorrow with a challenge card
Hugs Kath xxx

  7. Aww that is SUCH a touching post. Bless his little heart (and yours!). I think you may need a dose of patience with all those questions . . . but I agree . . . isn't life exciting as a kid!

It's a shame us adults view train rides and bus journeys as a necessary evil rather than a pleasure! I think I may have to review my way of thinking!

  10. Oh it'll be marvellous and exhausting all in one. I can't agree more, we've returned to several different places since we had DD and they change and take on such different character through her eyes.

  13. Fantastic day out with Brodie, Kath. Hope you've both had a great day out. Catriona and family have been, but we haven't been since it was in the old museum.

Was going on a WRI day out but it's been cancelled because of the rain. So Susan and I are off out anyway lol!

  14. Hi Kath

Just thought I'd share this outrageous fact with you. Look out for a green Porsche with the registration G400 (it's on the wall of cars) - I've actually been in that car - how outrageous is that? Part of my history is in a museum! I feel ancient now.

Have a great day jumping in and out of the trams - my favourite bit of the museum is the street looking at the old shops/cafe/pub.

  16. I think you both will be asleep as soon as your heads touch the pillows tonight. You'll be getting the questions today but his parents will be getting the whole day's adventure repeated several times! Sincerely hope that you both have a great time and those raincoats won't be needed.

  21. Had to have a chuckle at this one as I remember all to well the many, many questions and excitment of a day or more with grandkids. Your time is full of fun, but I remember at the end my ears actually hurt and all I wanted was some quiet for awhile.
Then you are once again ready for the next adventure.

  22. Oh what fun you must have had! I'm thinking that both of you probably fell asleep in the train trip home! Will be looking forward to reading all about it. Aren't little kids marvelous? Esp. when you get to spoil 'em and then give 'em back!
