White Christmas...

Hi folks...it's Saturday...where did the week go...today I'm sharing another of my new obsessions...watercolouring on canvas...
It's a fun technique with a different result every time. I used Royal & Langnickel Canvas Paper Artist Padswhich I cut to size. I thoroughly wet the canvas and used Distress Reinkers and a large paintbrush to apply a wash of Tumbled Glass. Once this was dry I spritzed with water and applied little splotches of Wilted Violet and Wild Honey...the wet surface makes blending easy...I repeated the process again with more Tumbled Glass. The colours looked pretty bright at this stage but they do lighten when dry. I stamped the trees with Ground Espresso and added Wild Honey and Ground Espresso Reinkers to create a ground line...blending it in with a water brush.
I love the textured effect you get when working on canvas and a Christmas scene would not be complete without the addition of some Frantage Snow.
Have a great weekend everyone...I'm intending having a great big crafting session...Christmas inspiration has arrived in the cubbyhole and I'm striking while the iron is hot.
See you all tomorrow

  8. Morning, Kath,
This is just beautiful! Who would have thought you could make such a wonderful piece of art using just re-inkers!!
I was planning on a crafty weekend as well Kath, until I just smashed my hand with a hammer :(. Luckily it caught the webbing between my thumb and index finger or I may have spent the day in A&E at Trelisk Hospital lol.
So far I've managed to almost finish the Christmas Cards that I hand out to my neighbours but haven't really started on any others...I seem to always leave it until the last moment lol.
    Have a great weekend, everyone.
