A Hats Off tribute to those ever so welcome Lightbulb Moments, the moments that come to your rescue when the creative process is in unco-operative mode...the only problem is they don't come along often enough.
I started off with a panel of Distress Watercolor card cut slightly smaller than the 5"x7" card blank, coloured it with Hickory Smoke Distress Oxide ink using that very familiar by now technique of smooshing, drying spritzing and tapping to pick up the remaining droplets.
I inked the Dapper image (hat only) with Hickory Smoke Archival and the wording from Inventor 2 with Black Soot Archival and stamped randomly over the background.
I stamped 3 Lightbulb images from Inventor 2 on to Plain Collage Paper using Black Soot Archival and coloured the reverse with a Mustard Seed Distress Marker using the Distress Detailer Brush.
fixed to the panel using Distress Collage Medium Matte and added strips of Idea-ology Collector and French Design Tape.
I used the alphabet from Tim Holtz/Sizzix Gift Bag Thinlits to die cut the words from the panel, using a T square ruler to make sure they were aligned and low tack tape to hold them in place.
I almost came unstuck at this point because I didn't leave a lot of room to complete the sentiment and didn't have the appropriate words in my collection of Chit Chat/Small Talk/Big Chat Stickers but as luck would have it,
I then attached the panel to black cardstock and cut extra letters and stars from Distress Watercolor card coloured with the Mustard Seed Distress Marker and popped them back into the negative space.
and rather appropriately don't you think, a lightbulb moment came along. I cut out the individual letters from words in an old pack of Big Chat Stickers, inked the edges with a Black Soot Distress Marker and fixed them in place with Distress Collage Medium Matte. I finished off with a splattering of White Gesso and fixed the panel to the white card blank.
Toodle-oo for now
