In The Meadow We Can Build A Snowman...

Hi folks, I'm back with another card using the amazing Alcohol Lift Ink...if truth be told, I'm addicted and can't stop playing, there is something fascinating about watching that image appear before your very eyes, as if by magic

I trimmed a panel of Yupo Paper to be slightly smaller than a 5" x 7" card blank, masked off the bottom with a torn scrap of copy paper, applied drops of Amethyst, Sail Boat Blue and Stream Alcohol Inks on the felt pad on a mini round blending tool and pounced until I was happy with the result.
I stamped the snowflake images from Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Swirly and Mini Swirly Snowflakes inked with the Alcohol Lift Ink, dabbed the ink off with a paper towel and buffed with a soft cloth.
I stamped the snowman from Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Tattered Christmas on to Distress Watercolor card with Black Soot, Ground Espresso and Forget-Me-Not Archival Inks.
and die cut using the matching Sizzix Framelits.
I die-cut the trees from white cardstock using Tim Holtz/Sizzix Home For The Holidays Thinlits
but I wanted the trunks to be longer, so positioned the top cutting pad from the Sizzix Sidekick slightly above the bottom of the trunk, (the section of the die below the cutting pad won't cut) and I trimmed the trunk to the length I wanted with scissors.
I stamped the snowman image on to the background with Black Soot Archival, added the Ground Espresso Snowman, then the Black Soot Snowman with his arms trimmed off and finally just the hat from the Forget-Me-Not Snowman. I put a drop of Stream Alcohol Ink on to my glass mat, spritzed with Rubbing Alcohol to dilute and painted along the snowbank edge to ground the trees and the snowman.
I inked Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Holiday Type with Black Soot Archival and stamped randomly over the background.
I dabbed the Ranger Collage Glue Stick randomly over the background, placed the silver Holiday Transfer Foil Sheet on top with the shiny side up and rubbed with my fingers to transfer the foil

I die-cut stars from white card using Tim Holtz/Sizzix Snowglobe 2 Thinlits and added Small Talk Occasions Stickers, edged with a Black Soot Distress Marker.
I coloured the snowman with Carved Pumpkin and Chipped Sapphire Distress Markers using a Distress Detailer Brush and added accents to the hat with a Sakura White Gelly Roll pen and fixed the panel to the card blank.
The bonus of this fabulous Alcohol Lift ink pad is that once you have stamped and lifted the ink you can then transfer it on to a porous surface, such as watercolor card with beautiful results. And now that I have managed to ditch the old habit of cleaning my stamps off with a rag right after stamping, I'll be sharing "two cards for the price of one" using this unique technique.
Toodle--oo for now
