You Bring The Sunshine...

Hi folks, I've been having a little playtime with Simon Says Stamp Cool Summer July Card Kit, but crafting has been confined to mornings only because afternoons at the moment are all about Wimbledon. It's been day after day of amazing tennis but if you follow my blog, you'll know I'm absolutely gutted that my hero, Roger Federer was knocked out in the quarter finals by Kevin Anderson in 5 nail biting sets but Kevin Anderson played a blinder and was a worthy winner. Now my 2nd and 3rd favourites, Djokovic and Nadal face each other in the next round. And oh boy, Nadal v Del Potro, what a match, the fifth set was way up there as one of the best ever in the history of the game.
In the meantime, back to the crafting and the first of the quick and easy cards made with the One Cool Pineapple stamp set from the kit...
I trimmed a panel of Simon Says white cardstock and die cut using Simon Says Wonky Rectangles. I applied Abandoned Coral, Spiced Marmalade and Fossilized Amber Distress Oxides through the Rays Mini Layering Stencil using Distress Blending Brushes and stamped the sentiment with Simon Says Intense Black Ink.
I stamped the sun image with Fossilized Amber Distress Oxide and Simon Says Intense Black inks.
I added Summer Gold Sequins from the kit, splatters of Fossilized Amber Distress Oxide ink and added highlights to the sentiment using a Sakura White Gelly Roll Pen.
I used the direct to paper technique with Abandoned Coral Distress Oxide ink to colour co-ordinate the white card blank.
And every cloud has a silver lining, there is some HAPPY HAPPY news, the launch of 12 new delicious Distress Oxides colours...
if you happened to miss Tim's Facebook Live launch, you can watch it HERE.
And woohoo, the cubbyhole crew are excitedly awaiting the arrival of the new boys in town.
I'll be back tomorrow to share another two quick and easy cards made from the kit.
