AALL&Create Designer Project - Owl You Need Is Love

Hi folks, I'm back to share another AALL&Create Designer project using the super cute Owl You Need Is Love #156 stamp set designed by Olga Heldwein and stencils from the latest release  #51 designed by Autour DeMwa and #52 designed by Olga Heldwein along with two old favourites, Stencils #23 and #39. With Valentine's Day just around the corner, these adorable owls were perfect to create a contemporary Valentine card or just a card to send a friendship message to a special someone in your life. You can check out all the products from AALL&Create with a list of stockists worldwide HERE

I trimmed a piece of Distress Watercolor card to measure 4" x 8" to create a tall skinny card and applied a wash of Antique Linen Distress Paint. I tapped Vintage Photo Distress Oxide ink on to the back of  #Stencil 52 Quadrilaterals, spritzed with water, laid the stencil down on the card and left it in place for a minute or two to allow the card to absorb the ink.
I applied Hickory Smoke and Black Soot Distress Oxide inks through #Stencil 51
Batik and #Stencil 23 using mini round blending tools.
and to add a pop of colour, used Rusty Hinge Distress Oxide with #Stencil 39 Lotza Dotz
I stamped the owl images from #156 inked with Versafine Onyx Black on to Strathmore Bristol Smooth Paper
coloured with Zig Clean Color Brush Markers with a Distress Detailer Brush and fussy cut. I stamped the sentiment on to black card with Versamark ink, heat embossed with White Embossing Powder and die cut using a Sizzix Circle Die.
I die cut branches from Sizzix Matboard using Tim Holtz/Sizzix Branches Bigz die, fixed to the panel with Distress Collage Medium and used a Black Soot Distress marker to create shadows around the edges of the branches. I stamped the "always and forever" sentiment from the stamp set on the panel using Versafine Onyx Black ink, added Tim Holtz Idea-ology Chatter Design Tape and flicked on splatters of Black Gesso.
I threaded the sentiment circle with black thread and fixed the owls and circle in place with Tim Holtz/Sizzix Mini Foam Adhesive to create dimension.
I punched a heart from white card coloured with Rusty H|inge Distress Oxide ink, masked off the top half of the "Owl You Need Is Love" sentiment, inked with Versafine Onyx Black and stamped on to the heart.
I threaded the heart as before, fixed in place with Mini Foam Adhesive and added a thread bow.

I absolutely adore these owls, the expressions on their cute little faces are priceless, so be warned, you may be seeing them again soon and hey, wouldn't they look adorable on a Christmas card dressed in little Santa hats. But I'm getting way ahead of myself, for goodness sake it's still January.
I'll be back tomorrow with more cute, in the meantime have fun whatever you are creating.
Hugs Kath xxx
