This Must Be Love...

Hi folks, you may have noticed that blog posts have been few and far between so far this year. If truth be told, my usual crafting routine hid the skids, my motivation was nowhere to be found and I became an honorary member of the Festive Lazy-itis Club, chilling out with my Furry Partner, watching daytime TV and stuffing my face with Christmas treats. But before the naughty pigging-out becomes a habit, I need to get back in the swing and get crafty with the pile of new products that have arrived since Christmas.
Simon Says Stamp very kindly sent me the Ornate Love stamp set from the recent "You Are Loved" release to play with and I love the beautiful scripty sentiments in this set, perfect for creating quick and easy/clean and simple cards to ease myself back in gently. Starting off with this one...

I trimmed SSS #120 Ultra White card to create an A2 panel, lined up the Hearts Stencil from Tim Holtz Mini Layering Stencil Set 6 centrally and fixed the panel to my Glass Media Mat with washi tape. I applied Spun Sugar, Worn Lipstick and Picked Raspberry Distress Oxides using Mini Round Blending Tools, starting at the top and working my way down, blending the colours as I went along. I spritzed the stencil with water using the Distress Sprayer and blotted with kitchen towel.
I die cut the panel using SSS Wonky Rectangles die.
I stamped the "Love" sentiment from Ornate Love 4 times down the centre using Simon Says Stamp Intense Black ink leaving a gap for the "this must be" sentiment which I stamped on to SSS Black card stock using Versamark and heat embossed with Ranger Superfine White Embossing Powder. I die cut the sentiment using my new best friend, SSS Nested Banners and fixed in place with Darice Thin Strips Foam Adhesive. I have always struggled to cut thin sentiment strips straight, despite carefully lining them up on the grid of my trimmer and have no idea why I waited so long to add this handy set of dies to my list of crafty must-haves. I'm all for making life a bit easier and there is no doubt about it, this is definitely going to be one of my favourite LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE products.
I added Lucy's Little Things Ice Crystal Sequins and matted the panel on to an A2 white card blank

I'll be back tomorrow with another Ornate Love card, in the meantime, have fun with whatever you are making.
Happy Crafting
Hugs Kath xxx
