An Easter Bouquet...

Hi folks, it's Good Friday, the start of a weekend of Easter celebrations and no matter what you have planned, I hope it's a happy one. I've just finished off making some Easter cards for friends but before I tidied up my workdesk and closed up the cubbyhole for the weekend, I couldn't resist making an Easter Bouquet card using another of those Intricate Lace die-cuts and some of the bits and pieces strewn around the cubbyhole after a week of die-cutting mayhem.

I began by trimming a panel from Tim Holtz/Idea-ology Wallflower Paper Stash to be slightly smaller than the 5" x 7" Kraft card blank and fixed torn sections of the Intricate Lace die-cut in place with Distress Collage Medium Matte.
I applied a light wash of White Gesso, spritzed Walnut Stain Distress Oxide Spray on my glass media mat and painted over the die cut sections. I spritzed liberally with water letting the colour run down the panel. I dried with my heat tool and repeated until I was happy with the background.

I coloured Distress Watercolor Card with Walnut Stain Distress Oxide Spray on the left and Wild Honey Distress Spray Stain/ Fossilized Amber and Spiced Marmalade Distress Oxide Sprays on the right and die cut flowers and leaves using Tim Holtz/Sizzix Wildflower Stems 2.
I fixed some of the leaves in place with Distress Collage Medium Matte, the rest of the leaves and flowers with Tim Holtz/Sizzix Mini Foam Adhesive to create dimension and added splatters of Black Soot Distress Spray Stain.
The sentiment banner was left over from a previous project and is the top section of the pot die-cut using Tim Holtz/Sizzix Potted BigZ XL die from Distress Woodgrain card and coloured with Distress Crayons to create a rusty galvanised look.
I added Idea-ology Hex Fasteners, fixed in place with Mini Foam Adhesive and letters die-cut from Distress Watercolor card using Tim Holtz/Sizzix Alphanumeric Lined Thinlits. I finished off by adding dots of Ranger White Enamel Accents.
I matted the panel on to SSS #120 Ultra White card and fixed to the Kraft Card blank.
I hope you all have a Happy Easter, whether you're out and about rolling your egg or just sitting on the sofa tucking in to the chocolate variety and I'll be back on Monday to share my DT project for Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge. You still have loads of time to join in with this week's Beautiful Blooms Challenge with the chance to win a $50 Gift Card to spend in the Simon Says Stamp Online Store.
Toodle-oo for now
