April Showers Bring May Flowers...

Hi folks, I'm sharing a card inspired by a recent afternoon spent in the garden trimming back the shrubs to get rid of last year's old brown and dried up growth
and the pile of this year's gorgeous Tim Holtz/Sizzix Thinlits die-cuts.
a reminder that with a few April Showers and a little bit of sun, the garden is already bursting into life and the brown will soon be replaced with Nature's beautiful palette of green

I fixed the Tim Holtz/Sizzix Intricate die cut to a panel of Distress Watercolor card using Distress Collage Medium Matte and applied a light coat of Gesso. I trimmed the panel to 4" x 5.1/4" and spritzed with Vintage Photo, Fossilized Amber and Cracked Pistachio Distress Oxide inks and spritzed liberally with water to allow the inks to run and blend. I dried with a heat tool and flicked on splatters of Antiqued Bronze Distress Mica Spray and Black Soot Distress Spray Stain.
I die-cut the flower from Distress Watercolor card using Tim Holtz/Sizzix Wildflower Stems 1 Thinlits, coloured with Vintage Photo and Walnut Stain Distress Oxide inks. I spritzed with water, dried and added splatters of Antiqued Bronze Distress Mica Spray to the flower centre.
I added Tim Holtz/Sizzix Crochet Thinlits die cut from Distress Mixed Media Heavystock and Kraft card.
I die cut the Tim Holtz/Sizzix Geo Insect twice from black Classic Kraftstock sanded back to reveal the kraft core and once from Distress Watercolor card coloured with Black Soot Distress Spray Stain. I spritzed with Vintage Photo Distress Oxide ink and water and added splatters of the Antiqued Bronze Distress Mica Spray. I fixed the first two insects down flat using Distress Collage Medium and on the third, I only applied adhesive on the body section and lifted the wings to add dimension
I added Ideaology Chit Chat Seasonal Stickers and die cut Tim Holtz/Sizzix Alphanumeric Thin Thinlits from Distress Watercolor card to complete the sentiment.

I distressed the edges of the panel using Tim Holtz Paper Distresser, matted on to a panel of Classic Kraftstock measuring 4.1/2" x 5.3/4", sanded back to reveal the kraft core and fixed to a 5/1/2" x 6.1/2" White card blank.
I may have made lots of progress in my quest to sort out the garden but I have a long way to go before I can say the same about the pile of die-cuts, so best get busy. I'll be back tomorrow with another floral themed project.
Toodle-oo for now.
Hugs Kath xxx
