Simon Says - Going Around In Circles

Hi Everyone...welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog...thank you for joining us for last week's challenge...we hope you can join us this week too because...

and the theme for this week is...
GOING AROUND IN CIRCLES
I created an Art Journal Page in my Dina Wakley Media Journal with the theme "The Circle Of Life". My idea was that it was going to have lots of white space...well that didn't go too well, as you can see. You could say this was one of those "going around in circles/embacing my inner pink demons" kind of a project.

I applied a coat of White Gesso to the pages and added circles die-cut from an old dictionary, fixed in place with Distress Collage Medium Matte.
I added Ranger Transparent Matte Texture Paste through the Splotches Mini Layering Stencil from Set 9. It looks milky at the moment but will dry clear and act as a resist.
I spritzed Picked Raspberry Distress Oxide Spray and this was the point when I kissed goodbye to the lots of white space idea and uttered "OH HELP" or words to that effect
But once I dried the pages, spritzed with water and blotted lightly with kitchen roll, it had faded back to a colour I was happier with.
I used a damp paintbrush and kitchen roll to remove the Distress Oxide Spray from the Texture Paste areas and practiced my doodling skills by drawing round the circles with a Sakura Micron Black Pen. I applied Hickory Smoke Distress Paint through the Dot Gradient Layering Stencil.
I inked the background from Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Entomology with Picked Raspberry Distress Archival and stamped randomly on the pages
I repeated with Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Halftone & Rings inked with Black Soot Distress Archival.
I fixed Idea-ology Found Relatives in place with Distress Collage Medium Matte and added shading around the edges using a Black Soot Distress Crayon and Distress Detailer Brush to soften the edges.
I applied Ranger Texture Paste Opague Matte through the Bubble Mini Layering Stencil from Set 5 randomly over the pages.
At this point, it just wasn't floating my boat so I decided to turn to one of my favourite Thinlits from the Chapter 1 release, Wildflower Stems 1 to add some feminine accents. I die-cut the flowers from Distress Watercolor card and coloured the centres with Picked Raspberry Distress Archival using a Distress Blending Brush.
