Simon Says Stamp May Card Kit...Delicate Flowers

HI folks, yesterday was one of those horrible cold, damp and drizzly days so what better way to spend my time than, in my happy crafty place, playing with the Delicate Flowers - May Card Kit from Simon Says Stamp.
At the time of writing the kit is still available to buy or if you wish, you can purchase the items individually (see the links below). Seriously, you WILL NOT be disappointed with this kit, containing the gorgeous Delicate Flowers stamp set, the absolutely stunning Moda Scrap Let Your Soul Bloom 6" x 6" papers, envelopes and SSS cardstock and woohoo, also included are 3 beautiful colours of the amazing Tim Holtz Alcohol Pearl inks along with a mini Blending Solution, 2 sheets of Yupo Paper and 2 sheets of Tim Holtz Alcohol Ink Silver Sparkle Cardstock, everything you need to get you started on a fun Alcohol Pearl ink adventure.
I trimmed one of the sheets of Yupo Paper to create two 4" x 5.1/4 panels ready for some fun.
Here's the first card made with the panel on the left

I added drops of Sublime and Tranquil Alcohol Pearl inks with drops of Blending Solution on to the Yupo Paper and tipped the panel this way and that, letting them do their own thing. I picked up Blending Solution on the tip of a small brush and flicked to create those little splatters. I stamped the flower image from the Delicate Flower stamp with Versafine Onyx Black which I discovered will smear. I should have used Black Soot Archival but there was a way to cover up that mistake.
I stamped the leaves with the Black Soot Archival, re-stamped the flower on to white card and fussy cut. I added a few drops of the Tranquil Alcohol Pearl ink and Blending Solution to my Glass Media Mat and added shading to the flower with a small brush, blending out the Alcohol ink with the Blending Solution. I fixed the flower to the card with Tim Holtz/Sizzix Mini Foam Adhesive to create dimension and stamped the sentiment. I scored and folded the SSS Green Leaf Cardstock included in the kit to create an A5 card blank and added the panel.
Now for the second card

To create the panel, I brushed Blending Solution all over and dripped the Sublime, Tranquil and Intrique Alcohol Pearl inks across diagonally in stripes. I then used a brush to blend them together, added drops of Blending Solution and once it had worked it's magic, I created splatters as before. I dusted the panel liberally with an anti-static powder bag and stamped the flower and leaf images from the stamp set randomly on the panel using Versamark ink. I sprinkled with Ranger Superfine White Embossing Powder and heat set. I got my heat gun good and hot and kept it moving across the panel until the powder had melted. Yupo is a plastic type of paper and will warp and distort if you overheat it.

But this background was way too busy for me so I die-cut a circle aperture and backed it with a small piece of one of the Moda Scrap papers. No way will I be wasting any of these beauties.
I stamped the sentiment in the aperture and the flower and leaves with Versafine Onyx Black ink on to white card.
I fussy cut the flower and leaves and fixed to the panel using Distress Collage Medium Matte and Tim Holtz Mini Foam Adhesive to create dimension. I added Shimmering Ice Fusion Sequins and added the panel to an A5 card blank.
I can't wait to continue playing with this amazing card kit but it won't be today. I'm off on a jolly hockey sticks adventure to meet up with some very very special crafty friends for lunch, coffee and a good old blether. You enjoy your day whatever you have planned and I'll see you all tomorrow with my DT project for Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge.
Toodle-oo for now
