Be Still My Beating Heart - Distress Oxide Sprays

Hi folks, my plans for tidying the "looks like a jungle" garden at the weekend were derailed somewhat by RAIN, RAIN and more RAIN, so I retreated to the cubbyhole for some playtime with the latest release of Distress Oxide Sprays from Tim Holtz and Ranger. And that didn't go entirely to plan either. I intended making backgrounds with lots of differnet colours but three particular colours and a favourite stencil kept me occupied for the whole afternoon and at the end of it, my workdesk was covered in an assortment of Distress Oxide Spray stencilled creations.
Who knew that spraying one stencil would have me reaching for more and more surfaces and I would end up with 8 backgrounds in total and a strip to use for die-cutting.
Victorian Velvet and Dried Marigold are so gorgeous together, be still my beating heart
So here is the first of many cards I'll be sharing made with these backgrounds, keeping the stamping simple because the Distress Oxide Sprays are the stars of this particular show

I trimmed Distress Watercolor card to 3.1/4" x 5.1/2", placed the Flourish Layering Stencil on top and sprayed Dried Marigold, Twisted Citron and Victorian Velvet Distress Oxide Sprays.
I removed the stencil and wow this was the result
I dried the panel with my heat tool, sprayed generously with water to allow the ink to wick, dried again, flicked on some water droplets and patted with kitchen towel.
I stamped one of the images from Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Flower Garden inked with Black Soot Archival.
I masked off part of the Mom sentiment from Simon Says Stamp Parental Props with Washi Tape, inked with Black Soot Distress Archival and stamped on the panel.
I added splatters of  Black Soot Distress Ink and to complete the sentiment, I inked another sentiment from the stamp set with Versamark ink and heat embossed with Ranger Superfine White Embossing Powder on a strip of black card.

I matted the panel on to SSS Black card and then on to an A2 card blank. I'll be back tomorrow to share another card, this time using up all the Distress Oxide Spray left on the front of the stencil with another of my favourite Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous stamps.
Toodle--oo for now
