Simon Says - Happy Hour

Hi Everyone...welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog...thank you for joining us for last week's challenge...we hope you can join us this week too because...

and the theme for this week is...
HAPPY HOUR
My Happy Hour is the hour after I bounce out of bed, switch the kettle on, make myself the first coffee of the day and weather permitting, sit in the garden with my Furry Companion and the resident birds for company, enjoying the wonderful world of nature and the peace and quiet. I confess on sunny Summer mornings, I do struggle to limit the happy to an hour. So I created an Art Journal Page in my Dylusions Small Creative Journal dedicated to my favourite time of day.

I began by adhering TimHoltz Idea-ology Document Collage Paper using Distress Collage Medium Matte, my favourite go-to adhesive and seriously folks, I go through so much of this amazing product using it for everyday gluing, coating surfaces etc etc that Ranger need to start selling it in gallon buckets.
I applied a light wash of Antique Linen Distress Paint and fixed the Tim Holtz/Sizzix Destination Thinlits die, cut from Distress Watercolor card with, yes you've guessed Distress Collage Medium Matte.
I then added torn strips of Tim Holtz Idea-ology Aviary Collage Paper using you know what.
I applied Ranger Texture Crackle Paste through the Stone Mini Layering Stencil from Set 28
and while I was waiting for the magic crackle to appear, I spritzed Broken China and Vintage Photo Distress Oxide Sprays on to my Glass Media Mat, (I could have used diluted paint or distress inks but these guys just happened to be sitting on my workdesk) picked up the colour with a wet paintbrush and painted the crevices. I dried with a heat tool and kept adding layers of colour until it looked suitably distressed.
I applied a coat of Distress Collage Medium Matte over the pages to seal the surface ready for some Distress Crayon smudging. I scribbled Broken China over the background and Black Soot over the crackle areas, blending it in with a damp finger and wiping back slightly with a clean cloth.
I applied Abandoned Coral Distress Ink through the Linen Mini Layering Stencil from Set 22 using a mini round blending tool.
I die-cut Tim Holtz/Sizzix Funky Floral Large from Distress Watercolor card and black cardstock and coloured using Abandoned Coral, Dried Marigold and Tea Dye Distress Inks using a mini round blending tool. They remind me of Mesembryanthemums, one of my favourite Summer flowers or to give them their common name, Livingstone Daisies which is much easier to pronounce.
I fixed the flowers in place resisting the urge to add multiple layers because I am only halfway through this current journal and already it's getting bulky.

I scribbled Picket Fence Distress Crayon over the crackled sections to add highlights, added splatters of White Gesso and Idea-ology Small Talk Snarky Stickers which I chopped up to create the wording
