Simon Says - Dry Embossing

Hi Everyone...welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog. Thank you for joining us for last week's challenge and we hope you can join us this week too because

The first challenge of the month means that the Design Team feature one particular company/brand and this month we will all be using the fabulous products from Tim Holtz. You don't have to use them to join in the challenge but we would love to see what you make if you have them in your stash.

and the theme for this week is...

DRY EMBOSSING

I created a card using Tim Holtz/Sizzix Poinsettia 3D Texture Fade. The beautiful elegant embossed panel is so stunning, detailed and dimensional that it needed minimal decoration to become a festive delight.

I trimmed Distress Watercolor card to 5" x 7" and spritzed lightly with water on both sides. I smooshed the Black Soot Mini Distress ink pad over the debossed side of the Texture Fade, spritzed the ink lightly with water and ran the Texture Fade through my die-cutting machine, as recommended 3 times.

I inked the script image from Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous with Distress Embossing Ink, stamped randomly on the edges, sprinkled with Wow Gold Glitter Embossing Powder and heat set. I inked the stamp again with Black Soot Distress Archival and stamped slightly under the embossed stamping.

I used a Distress Embossing Pen over the Poinsettia centres, sprinkled with the same embossing powder and heat set.

I added splatters of Black Soot Distress Spray Stain, sprinkled Stampendous Frantage Chunky White Embossing Enamel over the panel and heat set from underneath until melted.

I matted the panel on to slightly larger panels of Idea-ology Gold Metallic and BlackOut KraftStock and fixed to a 6" x 8" white card blank. To finish I used strips of Idea-ology Christmas Label Tape for the sentiment.

This has to be the quickest, easiest Christmas card I have ever made and would be perfect if you are into mass producing or guilty of leaving your Christmas card makes until the last minute, far easier than my coloured version from the other week.
