Hi Everyone...welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog. Thank you for joining us for last week's challenge and we hope you can join us this week too because
and the theme for this week is...
FOOD AND/OR DRINK
I created a card using Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Snarky Cats, Bold Tidings 2 and Sketched Greenery. This particular Snarky Cat is ready for Christmas, decked out in his Tim Holtz/Sizzix Winter Wardrobe Thinlits Finery and stocked up with his favourite tipple.
I trimmed Distress White Cardstock to measure 4.1/2" x 6.1/2" and coloured by smooshing a Custom Blend Ink Pad (Iced Spruce and Weathered Wood Distress Oxides and Hickory Smoke and Old Paper Distress Inks) on to my Glass Media Mat. I laid the card into the inks, dried and tapped back in repeatedly to pick up the remaining ink droplets, drying between layers. I masked off the top section of the Bold Tidings 1 sentiment, inked with Barn Door Distress Archival, stamped on to the card and heat set with Ranger Superfine Clear Embossing Powder. I stamped the image from Sketched Greenery inked with Black Soot Distress Archival. I inked the Snarky Cat and milk bottles from Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Crazy Cats with Black Soot Distress Archival, stamped on to a scrap of Distress White HeavyStock and die-cut using the matching Framelits.
I inked the sentiment from Sketched Greenery with Barn Door Distress Archival, masked off the individual words and stamped vertically on the card. I coloured the cat, milk bottles and berries with Black Soot, Peeled Paint and Candied Apple Distress Markers using a Distress Detailer Brush.
I fixed the milk bottles to the card using Distress Collage Medium, cut along the edges of the cat's arm with Tim Holtz Craft Knife, added a milk bottle and popped the cat up on Sizzix Foam Adhesive to create dimension. I die-cut Santa's hat from Distress White HeavyStock coloured with Candied Apple Distress Marker using Tim Holtz/Sizzix Winter Wardrobe Thinlits, applied Distress Collage Medium Matte to the fur areas and sprinkled with Distress Rock Candy Glitter.
I added Ranger Glossy Accents to the berries and cat's nose, Distress Mica Flakes under the Bold Tidings sentiment, trimmed the panel using Tim Holtz/Tonic Studios Deckle Edge Trimmer and added shading to the edges with Vintage Photo Distress Ink and a Mini Round Blending Tool. I added the panel to a slightly larger panel of white card, also with a deckle edge and matted on to Simon Says Schoolhouse Red Cardstock, scored and folded to create a 5" x 7" card.
