Tim Holtz/Sizzix - If The Hat Fits

Hi my friends, I'm back to share a slimline card I made for Facebook Live Launch of the new Distinguished Framelits from Tim Holtz and Sizzix, this time stamping and die-cutting the bowler hats from Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Distinguished stamp set to create a crazy kaleidoscope of colour rainbow card and I sure was happy that I didn't have to fussy cut all those hats. If you missed the Facebook Live, you can catch up on all the amazing inspirational samples over on Tim's Blog HERE

I began by trimming Distress Watercolor card to be slightly smaller than the Simon Says Stamp White Slimline card which I covered with Idea-ology BlackOut KraftStock. I marked the card into 7 sections lightly with a pencil and stamped the image from Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Brushstrokes inked with the Distress Archival inks in rainbow order. Richard Of York Gave Battle In Vain - Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Indigo, Violet.
I stamped the bowler hat from Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Distinguished with the same colours on to a scrap of Distress Watercolor card.
I added torn strips of Idea-ology Specimen Collage Paper under where the hats would be placed, die-cut the hats using the Distinguished Thinlits and created shadowing on the edge of each hat using Black Soot Distress Ink and a Mini Round Blending Tool. I added the hats, popped up on Sizzix Foam Adhesive to create dimension and added the panel to the card.

I fixed Tim Holtz Sizzix Adhesive Sheet to Idea-ology BlackOut KraftStock and die-cut the letters for the sentiment using Alphanumeric Tiny Type Upper Thinlits.
I added more Idea-ology Specimen Collage Paper and mixed the Alphanumeric Tiny Text Upper letters with Idea-ology Label Letters, an old favourite but discontinued sometime ago, but hey, I do love anything alphabet related so I have a stock that will probably outlive me and words from Idea-ology ChitChat Stickers.
I'm not sure I would buy a hat in every colour but I have been known to push that boat out when it comes to comfy T Shirts and Tops from M&S so who am I to judge.

I'll be back soon to share another fun card made with the Snarky Cats and DistinguishedThinlits, in the meantime, have fun with whatever you are creating. Happy Crafting my friends.
Hugs Kath xxx

  6. Clever, Kath! I was going to do the same thing, but since I have to have many different colored masks for myself and so I likewise have been continuing to make duplicates for my friends... I'm thinking I will create a mask template and say something like, "If the mask fits, order one in all of your colors!" I don't sell them, I only sew and give them to my retired friends! Thank you for your creation and inspiration!
