Simon Says - Happy Holidays

Hi Everyone...welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog. Thank you for joining us for last week's challenge and we hope you can join us this week too because

and the theme for this week is...
HAPPY HOLIDAYS
I don't know about you but I've got that "Christmas is beginning to sneak up on me" feeling, so it's time to kick the Christmas card production line up a notch. I've been decorating brown paper packages tied up with string and making matching cards and tags using Rustic Wilderness, the new colour to join the Distress Family, Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Christmastime 3, Ironwork Layering Stencil and Idea-ology Christmas Trim and Label Tapes.

I trimmed panels of Distress White HeavyStock to 4.1/2" x 6.1/2" and coloured by smooshing Antique Linen and Old Paper Distress Oxides and Rustic Wilderness Distress ink on to my craft mat, spritzed with water and laid the panels into the ink, dried and tapped back in to pick the remaining droplets of ink. If you are doing lots of backgrounds, clean off your craft mat and re-apply the inks for each panel, not as time consuming as it might sound.
I applied Rustic Wilderness Distress Oxide randomly over the background using Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Ironwork Layering Stencil and a mini round blending tool.
I stamped the sentiment and small tree image from Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Christmastime 3, inked with Barn Door and Rustic Wilderness Distress Oxide inks and while the ink was still wet, heat embossed the sentiment with Ranger Superfine Clear Embossing Powder.
I inked the snowflake image with Versamark ink, heat embossed with Ranger Superfine White Embossing Powder and added Idea-ology Trim Tape and Wishes trimmed from Idea-ology Label Tape.
From a spare background panel, I die-cut some tags using Tim Holtz/Sizzix Stacked Tags Thinlits
and the reinforcers from white scrap card covered with the Idea-ology Trim Tape for a little colour co-ordination.
I stamped the small images as before, matted the tags on to Simon Says Stamp Schoolhouse Red CardStock and added Idea-ology Trim Tape and Bakers Twine. I fixed Idea-ology Trim Tape to scraps of white card, trimmed to separate the words and fixed to the tags using Distress Collage Medium Matte. I wrapped the packages with Kraft paper, added stamping and a strip of Idea-ology Trim Tape.

To finish I scored and folded Simon Says Stamp Schoolhouse Red Cardstock to create a 5" x 7" card, fixed the decorated panel to Simon Says Stamp #120 Ultra White and Schoolhouse Red cardstock, trimmed to leave a small border and adhered to the card using Distress Collage Medium Matte.
