Tim Holtz Seasonal Distress Crayons - Christmas

Hi my friends, I'm back to share the other two projects I made for the Tim Holtz YouTube Live Launch of the new Seasonal Distress Mica Crayons. If you missed the Live, you can watch the replay and check out all the amazing projects from the Makers over on Tim's Blog HERE or YouTube Channel HERE.I used the two Christmas sets to make a Christmas tag and a card which is definitely not Christmas.

I began by fixing ephemera from the Tim Holtz Idea-ology Christmas Sticker Books and white Christmas Tiny Text Remnant Rubs to a size #8 Distress Mixed Media HeavyStock Tag and applied a coat of Distress Collage Medium on top. I scribbled over the tag with Tree Lot Distress Crayon and smoothed the colour out with my finger. I placed the Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Holiday Knits Layering Stencil over the tag and removed colour from the background by dabbing a damp kitchen towel through the stencil.  I selected more Ephemera pieces, tapped them with the Distress Embossing Dabber, sprinkled with Distress Frosted Crystal and heat set. I fixed these extra pieces in place with Distress Collage Medium and added extra white Remnant Rubs.
I decorated the back of the tag using the same techniques and added splatters of Peppermint Stick Mica Stain to both sides of the tag.
To finish I added Red Idea-ology Velvet Trim and thread bow.

On the second card I used Winterberry, Snow Flurries and Holly Branch Distress Crayons from the second set.
Sadly, I lost all the step-by-step photos for this card but hopefully I can remember the different steps.
I trimmed Distress White HeavyStock to 4.1/2" x 6/1.2" and applied a coat of Distress Collage Medium. I scribbled Snow Flurries and Holly Branch Distress Crayons over the background and used my fingers to blend the colours. I placed the Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Harlequin Layering Stencil on the panel and removed the colour from the background using damp kitchen towel. I placed the Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Bubble Stencil in place and applied the Winterberry Distress Crayon through the stencil and smoothed out with my finger before removing the stencil. I arranged sentiments from Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous Christmas Tiny Text on a Grid Block, inked with Ground Espresso Distress Archival ink and stamped randomly on the background. I fixed Pink Idea-ology Velvet Trim from the warm pack across the panel and matted the panel on to a 5" x 7" white card blank.
To finish I tapped Versamark ink over an image from Idea-ology Layers Engraving, sprinkled with Frosted Crystal Embossing Powder, heat set, coloured with Winterberry and Holly Branch Distress Crayons using a Distress Detailer Brush and fixed to the panel using foam adhesive to create dimension.
Enjoy your weekend, whatever you have planned. It's no surprise that I'll be heading over to Tim and Mario's place tomorrow 9am PT, 12 noon ET and 5pm UK for the launch of woohooo, a new Distress Colour. Reserve your front row seat, get your snacks ready and I'll see you there.
Hugs Kath xxx
