Holiday Sprigs

Hi my friends, I'm sharing a card I made with the Holiday Sprigs stamp and stencil and the Peace, Joy, Love and Hope Stencil from Simon Says Peace On Earth release. You can check out all the fabulous products from this release HERE.

I began by stamping the images from the Holiday Sprigs stamp set, inked with Simon Says Intense Black ink on to panels of Distress Watercolor card.I coloured the images using the matching Holiday Sprigs stencil with Distress Oxide inks using Simon Says Mini Blender Brushes and for this colouring challenged crafter, the stencil made it so easy.I trimmed a panel of Distress Watercolor card to 4" x 5.1/4" and applied Peeled Paint Distress Oxide ink through the Peace Joy Hope Love stencil placed at an angle and with the stencil still in place, applied Distress Snowflake Grit Paste with a palette knife, sprinkled with Distress Rock Candy Glitter and set aside to dry. A little tip, do not put any paste left on your palette knife back in the jar because chances are it will have picked up some of the green colour and although it looked OK, I was proved right when I wiped it off on paper towel. There are matching dies for the Holiday Sprigs stamp set but I don't have them yet so I fussy cut the foliage and two sizes of Poinsettias leaving a small white border and fixed in place with foam adhesive.
I didn't want to distract from those gorgeous glittered Christmas words in the background so I didn't add a sentiment. To finish I covered an A2 white card blank with Simon Says Lipstick Red cardstock and added the panel. I applied Glossy Accents to the Poinsettia centres and red berries and once dry, added a white dot to the berries using a Sakura White Gelly Roll Pen.

I'll be back tomorrow to share a project I made with the super adorable Cyber Monday Dash Away All die set from Simon Says Stamp and Tim Holtz, perfectly sized to use with the Tim Holtz/Sizzix Village and Paper Village 1 and 2 dies, a free gift available with a $25 purchase of Tim Holtz products but only available while supplies last.
Have fun with whatever you are making
Hugs Kath xxx
